True, though I like the peat in my single malts understated (I'm not a huge Islay guy because I feel the smoke overwhelms the character).

On of my favorite "inxpensive" single malts is Glenmorangie's port wine finished stuff. The smoke is there but muted by the port barrel aging.
How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat?

I'll drink them, but they aren't my preference. I'm the same with beers made with smoked malts- they tend to be over done instead of subtle.
