Blue Jasmine
... good movie but not something I'm really ever trying to see again. Great cast, great acting, but I wanted to punch the main girl in the face so bad (which means good acting I guess!) Some parts felt very Woody Allen to me but others didnt, idk
good film but definitely no best film nominee | --------------------

Lost In Translation - lovely! I really enjoyed how it was able to tell what could have been a really conventional love story in a totally unconventional way. The long scene of Bob and Charlotte just hanging out with various people in Japan, singing karaoke in a shitty apartment, felt so weirdly specific and REAL. But all in all it was great, with fantastic acting from people who rarely display it
edit: which isn't a knock on bill murray or SCARJO but this movie felt like it got really PERSONAL work from both in ways their other movies haven't

I watched Dead Silence last night.
Definitely the best movie to come out in 2007. That ending... twist so hard I broke my neck.
2 out of 10, perfect movie.

Saw Frozen yesterday, it was meh, and too many musical parts in the beginning. 4/10
The short film on Mickey Mouse at the beginning was top notch though. | I used to travel the universe, but settled for parks.

haven't seen Frozen but maybe it is possible for a musical to be maybe TOO frontloaded with songs?

I do think the start had a few too many, or at least it felt like there was a lot of SETUP before the actual story. I don't think it was too poorly balanced, but the first act felt a bit disjointed compared to the last two parts. The way the songs were placed into the movie felt a little disjointed (minus Let It Go), even though I think the musical numbers were all pretty good and the movie overall was. | d ( i n o s r o a ) r
