They're still there because the two parties want them to, politicians have tried to get rid of the electoral college for 200 years lol.

It would take a Constitutional Amendment. 2/3 vote in Congress and 2/3 ratification by the states (38/50).

You are not listening to what I say. I'm sure that some people in office are genuine (not nearly enough of them, imo) but the parties are not. They have become unstoppable machines that sell bullshit and do it by any means necessary.
