Idno, the house/senate thing is fine, the president being elected by the minority isn't.
Officials go through the president and the senate(right?), which should represent the states and the majority of the people, but it doesn't because of the electoral college.
The electoral college and the two party system (which is a product of this country's laws) is a problem to me.

The real ironic thing is that the red states are held afloat by leftist policies, but they keep voting against them.
Left policies come from workers and common people, right don't.
It's pretty amazing what the GOP has managed.

They're still there because the two parties want them to, politicians have tried to get rid of the electoral college for 200 years lol.

That's a generalization. I still believe that most people don't strongly gravitate to either extreme.

That's the problem. People on the left say that they are all for equality. Everyone is the same, and no one is better than anyone else. That's great. I have no problem with that. But, the stance on equality for many on the left ends when it comes to people who have different beliefs or opinions than they do, at least politically. In reality, on a political scale, it is "everyone should be equal, so long as they believe as I believe".
(disclaimer: this is painted in broad strokes, and I fully understand that everyone on the left does not think or believe this way. I also understand that many people on the right take the same stance and it is "their way or the highway", as well. That's one of the biggest issues right now, as I see it - the anger on both sides leads to less common ground)
The government should be representative of all of the people, which necessarily means that it must account for people with differing viewpoints and beliefs. People are going to disagree, and you know what? That's okay. |
Like no, everyone is not the same, some people are born better or wealthier.
It's equal rights and opportunity.
What you're describing are stupid people, who are not only on the left. |
I don’t disagree with anything you said here.

I didn't say that. The parties are pro money. They have no real beliefs. Just things to sell.

People tend to think the vocal minority is the majority thanks to social media.

That’s definitely not true, but I certainly blame the media and the state of affairs in this country for making you believe that it is. | "All this from a slice of gabagool?" |

They literally originate from worker's parties.

It would take a Constitutional Amendment. 2/3 vote in Congress and 2/3 ratification by the states (38/50). | "All this from a slice of gabagool?" |

You are not listening to what I say. I'm sure that some people in office are genuine (not nearly enough of them, imo) but the parties are not. They have become unstoppable machines that sell bullshit and do it by any means necessary.
