Danny Trejo has led a fucked up life. I respect him for getting his shit together and making a good life for himself.

Oblivion
I liked it, but much like fantasy movies, I'm an easy mark for sci-fi movies.
Everyone should have a ginger girl watching their six and calling in drones when needed.

I finally watched Iron Man 3 and I liked it. I also caught the end of Trollhunter and that was interesting.

Watched this movie tonight: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/a_hijacking/
It's compared to Captain Phillip's a lot obviously, but it was made before it. It's fairly different and has a lot more to do with the negotiator's at home who are talking to the pirates. That entire angle was really great
There were a few time jumps that really shocked me. One review on RT says it's unshowy and quietly intense and I agree with that. It's tense but not...INtense I guess (: . Good movie

Inside Llewyn Davis - First off I must say the movie's stunning in every audio/visual aspect. The lighting is almost HEAVENLY, and the music that runs through it is very nice, as lovely as folk music can sound. The story was great too - inventive Coen characters populating a story meant to explain and portray a sympathetic bastard. Oscar Isaac's work is revelatory, I've never really been WOWED by him before this, but he's great, getting at the pomposity and the sarcasm and the deeply felt self-loathing of Llewyn Davis. It felt a bit meandering in parts (primarily the middle stretch where he's out of Greenwich Village), but because it was always such a TREAT to watch I didn't mind.

Boner Jams '03
I question whether or not these are truly the best scenes the summer of '03 had to offer.

12 Years a Slave as well! Really good. The acting across the board was great, especially Fassbender. Not something I'd really want to watch again though since it's so depressing |
though it could've been worse, kinda...at the end I thought that random guy was Solomon's wife's new husband. Now THAT would've been fucking depressing |
Suddenly I have the urge to watch Django again for CATHARSIS! (:

SAME. but it managed to destroy me anyway. "I apologize for my appearance" was such a devastating note to end on. |

Dallas Buyers Club
... hey, really good movie. sad of course, but great. honestly, I can see Matthew M. winning best actor. he did a great job. this movie even has potential for best film, but I'd be surprised. I think that'll go to 12 Years A Slave. really good shit, and it's cool to hear that the film was passed on so many times and they self-funded it and just said FUCK IT and shot the whole thing in 12 days. Also, Jared Leto, best supporting actor, just give him the damned thing | --------------------
