It was Pocatello, Idaho.
When I decided I would go next, I decided to do a place, opened up the google maps randomizer, clicked buttons until it gave me a point in the US, then decided to be nice and pick the largest city nearest to the point, and it was Pocatello. I've actually been there a number of times, and was a finalist for a job at the university there a couple of years ago. It's also about the halfway point between my mother-in-law's and my father's places.

We all agree that no matter which of the two we guessed Spin was gonna say it was the opposite, right?

I dislike this stance that if we ask multiple questions about the same topic then it’s 100% a waste
Those time zone questions were for sure worth it. It’s not our fault it happened to be in the worst of the four major time zones

They weren't a waste, but it could have been done in a more efficient manner, I believe.
If you can ask "is it in state A, B, or C", then you could probably have asked "is it in Time Zone A or B?".

I mean if there are 5 states then it's just yes or no being more useful of an answer but we don't control the outcome of that answer to know.
