Technically, it's getting lighter for longer without any influence from changing to or from daylight savings time. The days are getting longer because we are getting closer to summer. (Opposite if anyone is currently in the southern Hemisphere).
I think what you meant was it will be "Lighter later", which would be correct. All that changed was moving an hour of daylight to later in the evening instead of the morning.
Totally worth it for the increased chances of heart attacks and extra cooling costs associated with more sun later in day when people are home and need cooling while also cooking, washing dishes/clothes, using all their electronic devices, etc.
I don't say this often, but Arizona is actually smart on this issue. The rest of the issues, it's a bass-ackwards state, but on Daylight savings, they got it right.
