Nothing like a good bout of US electoral fuss to distract myself from the fact that my own country is currently trying to saw off its own legs whilst doing the "this is fine" comic as a mantra.

Already looks like Republicans retained control of the Senate easily.

We also did not elect a neoconfederate to the Senate, so there's that. | How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat? |

In Arkansas' 2nd House District, the voters almost got rid of one of the Trumpiest Trumpers, French Hill. He only won by a margin of 52% to 46%.
French Hill's only positive campaign ad had him state "he was the only candidate in the race who supported medicare and medicaid" despite him voting against all those options, and voting for the tax breaks (which will be paid for by medicare and medicaid). He flat out lied to his base (multiple times beyond just this one -- his attack ads...woof), and they still voted him in convincingly for another term.
What it is like to live in a progressive state again? I've forgotten what that feels like.
Side note: Elvis Presley ran for the 1st District House seat as a libertarian, and somehow only got 2% of the vote.
