Interesting read.

However, this paragraph irritated me. If a woman has no prior history, just assume she is telling the truth? And what if the accused has no prior history of violent behaviour? Maybe you should assume they are innocent then.

You have to take these things on a case by case basis, and consider all aspects, including the character of the accused.

And I get that the premise of the article is that given how the statistics for exoneration indicate false accusations are rare, it's unlikely for someone to lie about rape. But when judging an individual case, I'd say it would be bad practice to use statistics to influence your opinion.

Also, I'd argue that the effects of false accusations are not limited to convictions.

I think that the mere accusation alone can be enough to besmirch someones reputation and potentially ruin personal relationships.

On a personal note, I know somebody who can no longer see his kids because his ex wife accused him of abusing her. He wasn't convicted of anything, nothing was proven, and knowing him personally, I don't think he was abusive at all.

But on her word alone, he is now estranged from his children.

If you actually read that article it literally says all the way through that false rape accusations are a thing that happens with some rgularity, it just states that the vast majority of the time there is some kind of motive for making those claims.

Your "mic drop" article literally contradicts the point I'm assuming you were trying to make.

I've bolded your statement, which somehow has been "stretched" to fit my agenda. You bare the one claiming shit *always* coming out and guys get let out of prison. My article shows this to be a patently false statement, but you can either admit your statement was absolutely wrong and that your perception of such things is based upon a biased assumption with no real facts to back it, or you can double down on your position like Trump, declare facts are "fake news" and then declare a bigly victory in the discussion.
