I think this is the only Woody Allen movie I've ever seen. At least that I remember. I thought it was entertaining enough but his stuttering grated on my nerves.
I could have probably picked a more storied movie from his filmography as an introduction.
Gargoyles: The Heroes Awaken
Essentially a bunch of Gargoyles episodes edited into one big movie. This is one of my most nostalgic movies that I watched over and over as a kid and as far as I know it's only available on VHS. I didn't even know there was a TV show until way later and just thought it was this awesome movie. It still is pretty badass for a kids' cartoon with a style and tone similar to the Batman cartoons at the time.
Die Hard, now I only need to see the Grinch to perfect my Christmas routine (:
Every time I watch Die Hard it gets funnier and funnier. The police chief has so many hilarious lines.
"I've got over 100 guys down here and they're covered in GLASS!"
"Oh I hope that wasn't a hostage"
"You're in big trouble buddy, you just destroyed a BUILDING"
The little bits with HARVEY the news anchor are also hilarious. When they have the hostage expert on and Harvey chimes in with some irrelevant fact and the producer facepalms. So funny
Cool movie that I can't believe I haven't watched before now, since I enjoyed all of the other work by the director that I've seen. Was a big fan of the ending.
Quiz Show
It wasn't a bad movie and everyone gave a good performance but I was just kind of bored by it.
Finally got around to watching Wolf Children... and it was really nice. I enjoyed it a lot.
I'll put the trailer here since it's an anime movie and unlikely anyone would have just randomly stumbled on it.
It's directed by the guy that directed Summer Wars... which you might not have seen but I thought that was one of the greatest anime films I've ever seen... it's worth a look as well.
This movie is less about the action and racing against the clock and more about the story of lives over a period of time. It plays out kind of like a foreign film in that regard. And I mean that in the way that it isn't always tidy and the story can be a bit depressing and then subsequently heartwarming. The movie is very cute and a lot of fun. And while I would say it's not as good as Summer Wars it is still very much worth a look. The animation is beautiful and the dub voices aren't distracting or annoying.
I know very few here respect my movie opinions but I figured I'd put this out here... a gem you might have otherwise missed because it's an anime and cartoons etc.
