Aye, we're working on new stuff. I've finished some new songs recently and they are way better than anything I've written before. And having learnt so much from making the last album, the production will be much better next time. I was happy with how the last one turned out, but I want a more modern for the next project.
I have a theme for the new album, it's pretentious as fuck but I like it. I can't help it...albums aren't really the in thing these days, it's all about singles, but as soon as I had the theme in mind I had to go with it, I like it too much. Besides, we're going to put some of the songs out as singles.
I'd love to go to a flash studio to record these songs, but given the world has gone to shit and I can't afford it anyway, that option is off the table. So it's gonna be DIY again!
Other than that, we have some new covers coming out soon, including Tonight Tonight by Smashing Pumpkins, and a version of Motorcycle Emptiness by Manic Street Preachers, which we have yet to start work on.

This is a Small Faces song. They were a band from the 60s and were very popular among the mod crowd. I love this song, it's one of my favs by them. I suggested it for a FE Playlist one time.
In case you're interested, I'll send you the demos Herm. I'll send them your way too Lamps. Would love any critiques you guys can provide on the songs. I'm trying to get as much feedback as possible with these ones before we start the production phase.

Yes indeed man! Starting work recording a new single very soon. One of the songs I sent you actually.
Looking forward to it, I learnt so much from recording the last album. We're going to record DIY again, but we are considering outsourcing the mixing/mastering duties. There's so much more I need to learn and I believe letting someone else mix/master will improve the production quality a lot.
In other news, I've started teaching guitar. Turns out I'm pretty good at it. Thought I'd be rubbish. Nice earner too.
Thanks Christian! We played it a little fast but I only realized after the fact. It still turned out pretty good though. I love the song, the lyric, melody and lead guitar are all so good.
Until recently I had been trying to commit to one video a week but that has fallen by the wayside recently. I'm focused on the new project we're working on, and things are progressing a lot slower than I had anticipated. I did help my drummer out with his channel by mixing this video for him recently tho:

This is one of the best songs off the White Album, and one of the Beatles best overall imo. It's got weird, complex time signature changes and great harmonies. We've been doing covers like this for a while now alongside working on new original music.
Speaking of which, since I know some of you are interested: we've got three more songs nearly finished and are looking to release them in August/September time. I sent some of you the demos for these songs earlier this year. I can send you the finished masters when we have them.
We found someone local who is good at mixing/mastering, and it has made a big difference to the production quality. Mixing your own music is a bad idea!
We've got a gig next week too, first time in a year and a half...very much looking forward to it.
