I'm half way through the playlist but I haven't gotten to Mitten's song yet. I already want to skip it now. |
You said you wouldn't. | |

1. ahoda - Moody Blues "Nights In White Satin" - The rest of this playlist might be spoilt for me now. I love the Moody Blues, and this is one of their best songs. The flute solo, the mellotron, the lyric and voice...it's all so good.
2. Wikey - Joe Jackson "It's Different for Girls" - Just a catchy fucking song y'know?
3. Boc - Ryan Roth "Va" - Man, those pigeons are great singers. Great lyric to this, I really relate to it. Va va vaaaaa. We've all been there.
4. Christian - Hawksley Workman "You and the Candles" - Woah, step away from the mic a bit Hawksley, jesus! (actually got used to this after a bit) Other than that: nice tune, good lyric. Sounds very raw which I also like. Have you been suggesting this guys albums in FE listens Christian?
Update: What the fuck is that bridge though? Scary stuff. Sounds a bit like Bowie almost.
5. Maddie - The National "Quiet Light” - The music is interesting, I like the drum beat and the weird background synths. However, the singer sounds like he just woke up and can't be assed to sing properly, or in time with the song. These guys should let someone else have a go on lead vocals. Pretty good though, I see you posting stuff by this band on the regular. Big fan are ya?
6. Lamps - The War On Drugs "Holding On" - I really like the band name. I was expecting a different type of music based on that, which is stupid. This track was okay I guess. Rather predictable though, and much too long.
7. Mittens - August Burns Red "The Eleventh Hour" - Ahhh, time for a ballad!
This guy seems rather angry about something, but I can't make out what. I think he needs a Strepsil or something.
Also, that dweeby sounding guy halfway through who says "we've got news for you." What news exactly? Don't really see the point in that, it was pretty goofy.
Ahhh, sweet silence (just reached the end)
8. Merc - Kontinuum "Breathe" - I liked the intro, thought it was going to be something ambient and chill, so I was disappointed when the big guitars came in. Maybe I'm still recovering from Mittens song and that's swaying my judgement. Just got to what sounds like the chorus, and I like that. Yeah, this is pretty good actually.
9. Josh - Rex Orange County "Loving Is Easy" - Nooo, it's that vocal sound, arghh. The Lily Allen drawl, I can't stand it. Too bad, cause the music to this is pretty chill. Even if it is a a milquetoast impression of soul music. If white people could make good soul music, we wouldn't have to distinguish it by calling it Blue Eyed Soul.
10. Havo - Amy Macdonald "4th Of July" - Man I feel so American listening to this.
11. Spin - Flobots - "Handlebars" - Why the fuck do I keep liking these hip hop songs? I don't like hip hop!! Fuck sake. Good lyrics.
12. Sock - Something Corporate - "Konstantine" - 9 minutes long...this better be good.
Update: mehhhhhh, I'd have ended this song at the 1.30 mark if I were him.
13. Curtis - Kaleida "Think" - I think this is both good and shit at the same time. I can see the appeal of this if it was playing in some grotty club at 2am and you were sozzled. But it's not exactly music to sit down and listen to at home is it?
That said I just listened to it again. Ughh I guess it's catchy

That's when he picks up the megaphone. lol I'm certain he was influenced by Bowie quite a lot. And yes, I had been suggesting Hawksley Workman in FE Listens. I think at least twice? But I switched up my strategy here. :P
