THe thing I took from the little I have seen of Michigan is they are just soft AF. Army pushed them around all day, and WI absoluteley manhandled them up front.
OL and DL coaches should be fired, imo. |
OL is Ed Warriner who is one of the best in college football. The problem with the OLine is a brand new system and scheme from last year with the new OC. The OL brought everyone back and they were one of the best in the country last year. Not the OC's fault.
DL is new and the old DL coach bolted for OSU. The problem could be coaching, but if you go back and look at recuriting, it's bee atrrocious. Lots of hits and players transferring out. That's on Harbaugh and staff for neglact as well. They have 2 stud freshman DTs that they refuse to play (1 was a 5 star). But the DL is shit this year and the reason why they will be a 4-5 loss team.
And the stupid homer Michigan fans are back to "Michigan is awesome and will win at least 10 games" thanks to the beat down of Rutgers. smdh |

Getting manhandled isn't a system issue. It's a people issue.

You said "the problem with the oline is a brand new system".
OL coach either can't teach the new schemes, can't get the players to buy into the system, or hates the system and doesn't give a fuck? Or so it seems to me. Now if they are a juggernaut by midseason, I'll agree with your its the system take instead of my it's the people take.
Recruiting falls back to coaching, imo.
I can see what you are saying about the d. Hard to pinpoint a problem in that scheme. The back end makes or breaks the front end of it.

Championship could be wide open this year.
Clemson has looked shaky, Georgia was over rated.
Oklahoma, Bama, LSU, Ohio St still looking pretty good.

I have always liked Wisconsin's. "This is what we're gonna do. Stop it if you can." style of offense.

Since Wisconsin is just the Arkansas of the North, maybe he wanted slightly warmer weather?

Arkansas had more money + lower academic standards (not even saying this as a LOL THE SOUTH thing, the high academic standards for athletes is literally why his successor left the program). Not sure what that has to do with style of play
