Who doesn’t have unlimited data? |
Me.
My wife and I split a 2 GB/month plan.
Y'all stream way too much. |
get a better cell carrier. I have unlimited data but it throttles back after 10GB and it's cheaper then what I was paying at Verizon for 4gb a month. I'm with AT&T now. |
I travel too much in the western US to have anything other than Verizon. Nothing else works reliably out there.

Verizon has unlimited data plans now. You really should call and tell them you want a better deal and tell them you're thinking of switching carriers. |

Why? We rarely ever use more data than our current plan allows, and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to get unlimited on both our phones for less than $75 a month, which is what we pay now.

Idno. but the next band you should check out is Porcupine Tree |
Good call. As it happens, I listened to a few of their tracks several years ago. I found them interesting but never delved any further.
Any specific albums you would recommend?

I put maybe because I don't listen to music much. When I do, music is so tailored now that you can pretty much listen to whatever you want whenever you want for free, so I don't get exposed to a ton of new stuff outside of long trips with my wife and daughter in the car..

No and anyone that thinks that "music today sucks" probably loves AC/DC. |
Except me who thinks 80s was the worst music ever.
But be nice to primate. Hair bands is all he had |
1- AC/DC is not a "hair band" (The rhythm and fierceness captures the rage of my generation pretty well)
2- I actually listened to more country than anything in the 80's.
3- We have been over the fact that anyone who thinks the Beegees made good music isn't even allowed to have an opinion on music. There is a reason disco only lasted a few years, and that is because it sucked so badly that even those who followed it religuously soon realized it sucked.
4- And 90's nerds, hear this. The grunge/alternative movement of the 90's was born of the punk rock of the 70's and adapted in the 80's. It was just tamed, commercialized, and corporatized in the 90's. Don't get me wrong, I loved the results, but let's not act like it was invented in the 90's.

Jive Talkin' is a good song.

Disagree. 70s Punk Rock was one of several influences on that era, but definitely not the only one. For example:
Nirvana had punk influences, but they were also heavily influenced by heavy metal and pop.
REM were more influenced by 60s jangle pop than punk
RHCP were funk
Alice in Chains and Soundgarden were heavy metal bands as far as I'm concerned.
Greenday probably come closest to what you're describing.

I hate genres tbh. What the fuck does grunge or alternative even mean? Alternative to what?
