vlady do you consider calzones sandwiches
cuz it seems like anyone could encase something in bread and you'd consider it a sandwich |
One basic defining characteristic that all of our "sandwiches" have required thus far is that the bread needs sliced in some manner post-baking (thus Curtis' erroneous reliance on "two or more slices" requiring that the slices no longer be attached. A "standard" sandwich requires you to slice bread off of a loaf. In the case of roll-based sandwiches, you make a slice in the roll itself, either going all the way through (like a hamburger roll) or stopping part of the way through, like a hot dog or sub/hoagie type roll. But you still have sliced the roll.
This is why i have to accept two pizza slices pressed together as a "sandwich", because the pizza has been sliced post-baking and it thus has to fall into the classification.
A calzone, by it's nature, doesn't require slicing post-baking, as the filling has been put inside prior to baking or frying. Same with an empanada, stromboli, piroshkis, or similar food items. They aren't baked, sliced, and then filled, but instead the filling is baked inside.

The two or more pieces of bread bit is literally the definition of a sandwich

Wrong- "slices" of bread.
Remember, things aren't the finest thing since "pieced bread".

"Wiki how to cook pizza in a hot dog bun" |
Yeah- I specifically picked that one because it is one of the least hot dog bun looking pictures, yet it's a hot dog bun.
About half the pictures are hot dog buns and half are sub/hoagie rolls.

The legal case said "slices of bread", not pieces. So again, tell me how a hot dog bun is used without it being sliced? | How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat? |

It has been partially sliced yes (the only one sliced/presented/served/eaten top to bottom as opposed to literally every sandwich which are all sideways making a hotdog special btw), but they are most certainly not two separate slices

Saying a sub bun has two slices is like saying you can slice a pizza by cutting halfway in from the crust. That would not make it more than one pizza slice

I get these pizzas all the time:
Invariably, the pizzas aren't fully sliced all the way through and you have to pull them apart a little. Are you saying I don't have a bunch of slices until I make that tiny last separation?

I'm asking because that sure looks like I have pizza slices, but I guess I don't. How am I to know when I can get a slice of pizza?

Can we please stop talking about stacking pizzas and calling it a sandwich, because it's starting to sound like a great idea and I don't need that influence in my life right now.
