This movie felt more fleshed out, but I can't say I really remember the first movie all that well. Except a few key scenes.
I only remember an odd looking Steppenwolf being the villain in the first film, and that they quickly put together a team with almost no build up, revived Superman and then defeated the bad guy.

Basically everyone had a story this time and even Snyder described Cyborg as the "Heart of the team" and was more central this time.
Honestly the more i think bout the movie the more i liked it. It's like someone cooked this movie and they just microwaved the first one.
Rodney is a great guy. Oops, nevermind he's a terrible human being.
He likes his sandwiches to be Turkey and Swiss. Triangle cut. Let vern have his crust. Poison the part Rodney eats.

I liked the sad boy Steppenwolf scene. Not a bad villain at all. I haven’t seen the original but he looks fucking awful there. He looks good here and I like his motivation, I like that he’s a henchman. Also he’s kinda brutal, this is bloodier than I expected
Flash humor is cringey but the slowmo car crash was good
And I find the Aquaman scenes kinda cringe too tbh? They try so hard to make him look badass in small moments and it always looks really dumb. You’ve got Jason Momoa, you don’t have to be so extra
Completing the cringe trifecta is Gal Gadot’s acting
Liked the Cyborg scenes, especially his flashback and the sequence showing off what his powers are capable of. Joe Morton is always good too
The bad: the cringey humor and the cringey tryhard badass shots and lines. "I belong to no one!" WaOoaoOoahh!!
The good: the main action sequence in this chapter. Not bad! Honestly, I kinda like the way these characters and their powers balance each other out in combat more than the avengers sometimes. Everyone has a unique set of skills and this sequence in the tunnel helped show that off. At least for the four of them that were there. The MCU heroes feel a little more bland in some ways action wise, their actual combat just feels less inspired in the typical shots when it switches from hero and hero. They're more or less just throwing punches or shooting guns. Side note, you ever see Mantis in the background of a fight scene? Terrible
Watched the Synder Cut yesterday. First half I found to be boring and way too many slow mo scenes. I enjoyed the 2nd half. Same problem I had with the first one though. THey never gave each hero a solo movie first so they had to cram backstory in there and make the movie waaaayyyy too long.
Superman resurrection and fight was fine. I liked his moment with Flash, wish he had more individual moments with each character in the fight. But again, still better than a lot of unbearably forced MCU hero on hero fight scenes. MAYBE my least favorite thing about the MCU, those scenes are always garbage

Final fight was actually good. The action remains the best part easily. Everyone got their moments. Batman has my favorite sequences which is funny considering how obviously underpowered he is compared to everyone else. But I love how he has to be crafty to make up for it. Tbh I don’t dislike Batfleck at all, I think they kinda nail his combat. Taking a lot of stuff from the Arkham games was a great call, that warehouse scene in BvS is still a top notch sequence
Superman OP. God damn! Steppy got fucked fast
Liked the Flash sequence and Cyborg’s moment to shine. Aquaman had a cool enough bit..I guess. But he mostly had nothing to do. His abilities are just too lame on land
Cannot staaaaand the Wonder Woman theme. I haven’t seen the WW movies but I’ve heard that electric guitar theme and it’s way better. Literally every time she shows up in slow mo here: OOAAHHHHH HOOAHHH OOOHHHH AHHHHHHHHH EAHHHH! So fucking annoying, what were they thinking
Jesus Christ Leto is absolute garbage as Joker. I saw so many people PRAISING that scene, wild. He is so very bad, his laugh makes me cringe. Best part was Batman dropping the f bomb
Overall: 5/10. It had its moments. A bit better than I thought it’d be but obviously no where close to where it could’ve been. Biggest problem ofc is that I didn’t give a shit about anything at any moment. That’s an issue! DCEU had just been fumbled beyond repair. Feels like the best thing they could do short of a full reboot is to just keep making disconnected standalone movies in different universes, like the upcoming Pattinson Batman, The Suicide Squad, etc. Not having standalone movies for these six before this movie was obviously their biggest mistake
I haven’t seen the Whedon Justice League and never will now but I’m sure this is an improvement. I’m not a big Snyder fan but it’s nice that he was able to release this and wrestle out from underneath the studio. Especially considering what happened with his daughter / the reason why he had to hand the keys to Whedon in the first place
Original is worse in almost every way so anything you didn't like with this one...it only gets worse imo
