This felt like the actual premiere. Ep 1 was like S5's epilogue

I liked how excited Bran got seeing that Hodor used to talk. Hodor seemed pretty proud too.

I'm guessing next episode we'll see why he can't talk, probably because he was sparring with Ned and got hit in the head.

It was generally pretty good. Robert Strong makes me giddy, and I love it.
The Roose death was a tad bit ridiculous. It felt more like a 'cheap shock' more so than anything else. It didn't feel like it was part of the natural flow of the story. And I'm hoping his death will be a bit more 'grandiose' in the books.
I was predicting that Jon Snow comeback so hard, and I got super excited when the focus went to Ghost (Thinking the Jon wargs into Ghost theory was going to become true), but then the cliche thing happened. Which was a bummer. It probably would have been my most favorite ending in a long time if it had been Ghost. But whatever, I'm still convinced about that theory in regards to the book plot.
Euron not having an eye-patch still really irks me. And I dunno how I feel about them showing straight away that Balon was pushed. Book readers had to specualte (and technically still are) about if Euron pushed Balon or not for more than 15 years! And the show watchers straight away find out with Euron's introduction. I would have liked the show to have built upon that. Kind of like a 'Lysa Arryn reveals she poisoned Jon Arryn' type reveal later on in the series.
It was a pretty strong opening to the Iron Islands plot though, and it makes me pretty excited! Still pretty bummed about Victarion though. But with Theon going home and most likely arriving there the same time the Kingsmoot will start will most likely mean that Theon will take over Victarions role. Which I can live with. As long as Asha/Euron aren't the only contenders for the Seastone Chair (why did they change it to the 'Salt Throne'?') than I'll be happy.
But this episodes was BY FAR better than the premiere. So that's a plus side. | 'Oh my god, it's full of stars!'

And also, the Bran scenes were super stellar, I loved that!
I remember skyping with Brian once when he was shitface drunk, and he was going on this rant about how much he hated Bran. I did not agree with him. lol.
But I'm glad to see atleast some Bran love from you Brian! I've been waiting for that tbh! | 'Oh my god, it's full of stars!'

I just watched Roose's death again and it sucks
I hate that they killed Roose and Stannis off with a whimper. Two classic characters from the beginning and both very instrumental at parts of the story. Reminds of Selmy's pointless death
I'd be pissed if I was some of these actors (:

It was good.
- I wasn't blown away by Euron's introduction and the start of the Greyjoy plot line, but it at least shows no signs of becoming the complete disaster that is Dorne.
- Speaking of which, the complete absence of Dorne automatically raises the episodes grade for me.
- Bran is finally interesting!!!
- Jon snow is back.
I thought the delayed reaction was a little cheesy though. Apparently magic spells in Westeros like to keep you in suspense. I suppose it fits given how long the curse on Balon took to take effect!
- Tyrion and Varys banter is not remotely witty and needs to stop.
- Tyrion meeting the dragons was very cool though.
- Robert Strong is the greatest.
- Jamie is shit, this needs to change.
- Cersei is also lame at the moment, I want her to become a psychotic idiot again.
- The plight of the Lannisters in general is been portrayed very well though. You can tell they are in shit streak.
- They really should utilize Kevan! A passing mention is not enough.
- I agree the Septon arc is getting old fast. I like the Septon, he is cool, but it's progressing too slowly. Hoping it will come to a head soon.
- Roose Bolton's expression when he was dying. Priceless. Looks like he is asking himself this as he collapses: "Oh my god how did I raise such a fucking moron?!"
- Ramsay is a dead man I reckon, it's just a question of how and when.

Is the scene from the epilogue of Dance going to happen? Kevan was the last best chance the Lannisters had of holding things together, and I think it needs to be in the show. Such a great moment too. |

Time to thin the herd in time for the final run it seems. I expect more characters are going to have unsatisfactory deaths.
But I agree, it doesn't mean they have to be executed so poorly, pardon the pun.
I mean Roose is supposed to be smart. He just told his insane illegitimate bastard that he has had a son, a clear threat to his inheritance, and when his insane bastard son comes in for a hug, he doesn't get even slightly suspicious?
What a dumb dumb.

Yeah, plus Roose would have expected that his bastard would try this shit, maybe not this soon, but still.
Not very believable imo.

I did like that Roose got killed the exact same way that he (helped) kill Robb. But yeah it was a bit anticlimactic. Especially with a character like Ramsay they could've really had him chew the scenery before doing the deed

How could he really avoid it though? If he rebuffed him it would become really obvious he didn't trust him and create a permanent rift

I think it will, but it doesn't seem like it can be Varys. As much as the show takes liberties with time/distance, Varys going from Mereen to King's Landing that fast would be ridic
I have a feeling Littlefinger's gonna do it instead, though it remains to be seen what he's up to currently |

Maybe Varys can just do it indirectly? I mean, he has his birds. I wouldn't be surprised if they swapped Littlefinger into his place though. |
