LOTS TO UNPACK! First, choices
Shot Finch instead of letting him rot. I loved the running gag of shooting him with different bullet effects, and shooting him this third and final time allowed me to cross all three off my list. Worked perfect. Shipped Rhys and Sasha even though I don't at all. Apparently if you let Yvette out of her cell you can later try to save her or allow her to float into space and die, but I kept her in the cell so she probably just died in the crash. GOOD! Fuck Yvette
Chose August, Cassius, and Janey for my team. My dream team of side characters would've been Zero, Shade, and a somehow alive Scooter. I cannot BELIEVE Shade didn't come back!!! He was one of the funniest characters, they really underutilized him. He can die in that first episode if you tell him to fuck off so it would've been cool to have him at the end there and he could only come with you if he survived
Would've picked Zero cause he's my boy and who I play as in Borderlands 2 but he wasn't an option cause I didn't lie to him about being a vault hunter. That's bullshit!!!!!
August was a fine pick because he was part of the story and had some redemption, I warmed up to him at the end. Especially because he had some funny line to Vaughn but I 100% forget what it is. Athena bored me so she wasn't coming. I never forgave Felix and called him a dick all game and couldn't choose him since I killed him, good riddance. Didn't have the money for the mystery hero. Cassius and Janey were defaults at that point. Pretty fun moment tho, forming a second team of four which ties nicely into the main games. Just wish we had some more character options, like even the funny bouncer from the bar
The opening was great. Retrogade by James Blake!!!!!! I was so excited when that song came on. Might've been my favorite opening just for the song alone tbh
But man...Loader Bot's death there. Of course they'd hit us with that. And then again with Gortys. BRUTAL!
The Handsome Jack scene where you rip your shit out was one of the best scenes. Handsome Jack was handled really well in general, he's a huge part of the series
I played every chapter on Skype with Boc and KC and screenshared it for them and from the very start my first joke guess for who the stranger would end up being was Loader Bot. Kept joking about him somehow cramming himself in that suit. MAN WHEN THAT MASK CAME OFF. I was so excited. Best moment. Loader Bot and Gortys are the best Telltale duo since Lee and Clem. Loader Bot is one of my favorite Telltale characters for sure, his line delivery was always perfect
Did not care one bit when Sasha was dying tbh, she never grew on me at all. I tried to stray away from Sasha/Rhys despite giving her the flower. I'd have rather had a Rhys/Fiona thing as typical as it would've been
When Loader Bot got the crew of four together I decided that a Borderlands 3 with those four as the main playable characters would've been fucking awesome. Rhys, Fiona, Vaughn, and Loader Bot. It would be so great. But since Gortys is alive at the end maybe replace Vaughn with her, sorry Vaughn. Glad Vaughn never did end up betraying me
FUN GAME. Some great characters. My favorite part of the game by far was some of the running gags, even just the ones that us three made up on Skype. The hat, the Steve mask, the eyeball, Felix's cum, Gary, not liking guns, Find anything yet, etc. Some were actual running gags that came full circle (loved trading hats with Scooter), but I really wish the eyeball ended up coming back into play and saving the day ;__;
Watching the Claptrap scenes if you have the money to buy him. That would've been worth saving all of it. It'd be hilarious if they teased that you get something good at the end if you save all your money and then you come to find it's Claptrap

Also out of curiosity I looked back at the Vault Team I had and mine was Athena, August, and Zer0. I remember now that there was some pretty fun stuff between Rhys/Zer0 if you pick him, kinda like in the first episode

Shot Finch. I've been waiting to kill this guy for so long. Like Curtis, I had shot this guy twice before, with fire and lightening, so I figured I'd melt his face off with acid as a final goodbye. PEACE!

Shipped Rhys and Sasha. I mean, it felt like the right thing to say. I don't think Fiona would have been like "STAY AWAY FROM MY SIS". Would have been a real mood killer.

I did not, unfortunately. I let her out of the cell because shit had just hit the fan with Jack, and I figured I needed as many people on my team as possible. I can't tell you how close I was to letting her fall out the duct though, man I really wish I did. She did nothing to redeem herself in my eyes and before the Loader Bot reveal, I thought killing Yvette would have given Loader Bot a seat on a pod. I felt so fucking guilty for like half the episode.

I kept it alive but I wish I destroyed it. I thought keeping it alive would give me one last scene with Jack or come into play somehow later in the episode. BOY, was I wrong!

Admitted that you weren't sure. I'm with Curtis on this relationship. I don't dislike her as much but the romance felt a little forced. This answer felt more like Rhys. I don't think he truly knows how he feels about her.
Final Squad
So this was pretty easy for me to choose since I only had 4 options. I didn't have enough for the mystery hunter, I didn't do the Scooter send off so I didn't get Jannie or w/e her name is, and I couldn't pick Felix because I let him blow himself up because FUCK Feliz.
Chose August. This was a no brainer for me. I really liked August and ending his story on the cliff watching Val die didn't make sense to me. I wanted him to have a final redeeming moment with the team.
Chose Athena. Athena is basically Fiona's Vault Hunter mentor and saved her life in ep 3 so it felt right to include her. I was also thinking this mission was going to be very ME2-ish, so i wanted someone very talented on the team so I could avoid as many casualties as possible.
Chose Zero. It was either Zero or Cassius...so no brainer. I didn't mind Cassius but he didn't do anything for me story wise. I also didn't want Athena and Cassius on the same team because I wasn't sure how it'd affect the dynamics. Also Zero is a badass.
Final Thoughts
Episode 5 is definitely the best one. The heartbreaking title sequence, the final confrontation between Jack and Rhys, and the badass power ranger fight at the end, everything tied in perfectly and kept me engaged the entire way through.
The loader bot scene was so sad. My personal arc with loader bot was hilarious because he HATED me for letting him self destruct, so I spent the rest of the game trying to make it up to him and win him over, yet I feel like deep down he still hated me. :D Speaking of amazing robots, the Dumpy death was too much for me. It happened so fast and I just wasn't ready for it. I was way 100% more affected by Dumpy's death than Sasha's potential one.
I have to say the final exchange between Jack and Rhys might be my favorite scene of the game. You finally get a raw look at Jack and who he really is, no witty overtone. "You don't understand, you don't know what it's like. There's nothing. It's nothing." Such a chilling line.
I agree with Curtis in the fact that I wish you had more people to choose from in the end. I think there were plenty of options, and it would have made it even cooler to see everyone's combination. I can't complain much though, because I was very satisfied with my team. :) I am interested to see how Sasha's death scene is affected with Felix in the mix.
Such a great ending to a great story. It's definitely in my top 10 and 100% my favorite TT. I can't wait to play it again in the future. I don't think I've ever consistently laughed as much while playing a video game, everyone is so funny and the dialogue is top notch every step of the way. GOOD SHIT
Any regrets? Only 3.
