I saw it at midnight and there really wasn't a dull moment. It might not be the most deep movie around but I agree that it's very very fun with a pretty good message.

Are you referring to the death of the assistant? |

So good.

The last bit with the T-Rex fight was pretty awesome. I expected the raptor to come in at the last second. |

Oh god..

When the raptor came outta no where and ran at the I-Rex in the slow mo hero shot. pls
It was fine for what it was. Entertaining and fun enough, the nods to the original were cool and I liked the music. And it had some nice tense scenes too
The kids were AWFUL! Way worse than the kids from the first who I actually ended up caring about at the end of that one. I was rooting for these two to die, especially the older one. Why did they give him a subplot where he stares at all the girls around the park. Really any ~touching scene between the brothers fell completely flat
The rest of the characters were so bland or typical. Hoskins was stereotypical in a good way, he felt like an instant classic Jurassic Park villain/idiot who you can't wait to see die. Unfortunately I went to the bathroom when he did and missed it completely
Chris Pratt/Jake Johnson/the owner were the only ones I was rooting for, everyone else was really unlikable. There was pretty much 0 development for anyone other than Claire
I can't help compare it to the first one really. I just had way more fun seeing the first in theaters when it was re-released in 3D two years ago than I did with this. Entirely different league but its all expected
To me this is kinda just like Godzilla/Avengers. Good blockbusters at the time that I'll never watch in full again |

The kids were awful. The unnecessary divorce plot which really had nothing to it other than a sob story. The romance wasn't necessary either. It's a movie about dinosaurs and Claire's thinking about having kids and a second date. Her development was the best by far, though. I disliked her greatly in the beginning but thought she was okay in the end.
Plus she was in high heels the whole time. Never lost a shoe or tripped. That's badass on its own. |

It was p fun. Exactly what I expected to get from it. Definitely agree with Curt that it's similar to Avengers for me, fun enough that it's worth seeing once in theaters but not rewatchable at all (and certainly not a classic like the first JP)
Jake Johnson's character was definitely my favorite, Owen was p good too. Also is it just me or do Jake Johnson/David Krumholtz/Oscar Isaac all look incredibly similar. I always get them confused every time I see them
ending had some cheesy moments but was fun anyway. The raptors speaking to the I-Rex and mouthing "NO! DON'T KILL HIM!" and the I-Rex responding "FINE...!" before attacking them (srsly they clearly moved their mouths to convey this) was probably the silliest part. But I did like the build-up to bringing the T-Rex out of its cage, and the Mastodon finishing things off. Kinda weird that no one felt in danger with a loose T-Rex after that though (: I GUESS IT WASN'T HUNGRY! |

It wasn't nearly as good as I was expecting (considering it was obvious they were building him up for a grisly death). You pretty much just see his arm get bit and then a big blood spray. Nedry's death >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

also while I didn't care about the kids at all, I didn't think they were any worse than the kids from the original. I was rooting for them to die the whole time in the first movie. At least they didn't have one of them turn into a MASTER HACKER this time

Hopefully they make the sequel an actually good movie instead of just a fun one.

I heard a rumor that Chris Pratt's gonna be in a couple more sequels. I don't know how I feel about the word 'couple' and 'sequels'.

I dunno how they can make a sequel feel like anything but a rehash. There's only so much you can do with the concept of "park full of dinosaurs has a security breach, dinosaurs attack humans". They'd have to go in a completely different direction but I doubt they will when it's proven that following the formula will gain them a ton of money every time
