Yeah not a fan of the replacement Daario either, but overall, pretty much expected this to be an average episode. The next one should be a lot more fun!

Arya killing Polliver was a great scene. Can't wait for some more Oberyn, his character looks great great!

Someone (without spoilers) tell me who the two new characters are.

1.) The fat drunk guy that talked to Sansa.
and
2.) The new guy who wants to kill the Lannisters and is there for the wedding

1) Ser Dontos was the drunk fool in season 2 who Joff almost killed on his name day (birthday). Very first scene of season 2 which they showed in the preview.

2) Prince Oberyn is the first Martell to be introduced to the show. His father is the Prince of Dorne and his sister was the one who married Prince Rhaegar Targaryen, and was killed by The Hound's brother.

1.) Dontos, the guy she saved in an earlier season when Joffrey was going to make him drink himself to death or whatever.

2.) Oberyn "The Red Viper", Prince of Dorne - an area down to the south, where the Lannisters shipped their daughter off to.

I still don't get why Oberyn is there if he hates Lannisters but he is keeping their little girl safe? They didnt explain that well at all.

The good:

- Tywin and that opening scene.
- Every Hound/Arya scene.
- The dragons! The possibility of Dany losing control of them is literally the only interesting direction her story looks to be going in right now.
- Oberyn

The bad:

- My first impressions of Daario's replacement are meh. The original actor in season 3 somehow managed to make him somewhat likeable.
- Jamie was disappointing. I felt they undermined his character development last season with his scenes in this first episode.

Scratch that, the hilarious statue of Joffrey was the best part

We all burst out in laughter at that part. So unintentionally funny.

I'm pretty sure it was intentional (:

Are you talking about Myrcella? She was shipped to Dorne to get married off there. Wouldn't make a lot of sense for him to kill a relative's wife (:

Go on, please... I'm still not getting this.

Also, the Joffrey statue was not intentional. It was to remind us he is the one true King.

Myrcella was shipped to Dorne. Dorne is where Oberyn and the other Martells are from. Myrcella was shipped there to get married to one of them. It wouldn't make sense for Oberyn to kill her since she's soon to be part of his family (or already is, idk). He doesn't have such reservations about the other Lannisters, because the rest aren't, y'know, married to any of his relatives

In the show's universe the statue wasn't intended to be funny, but it obviously was by the writers

So what's up with Oberyn's sister? She was married to Dani's dad?

Oberyn's sister was married to Rhaegar Targaryen, Dani's older brother. Dani had an other older brother(Viserys) who died in season 1, but Rhaegar was their elder brother.

Good episode though. I knew they must've changed Daario's actor, none of my friends noticed a thing though so I didn't say anything. Arya and the Hound ftw.

Rhaegar was the crown prince and HEIR to the Throne. He would have been King had Robert lost the rebellion and Elia of Dorne his Queen.
