The video you posted is a guy who can turn the camera on and ramble about nonsense news stories and get views because of the titles. These are the people making terrible videos for doing nothing. You might not like the content of Shane Dawson, RWJ, or PewDewPie, but these guys take a lot of time to produce their videos. Most have their own production team and editors, it's not like they spend 10 minutes putting a video together. Some of the top youtubers are working 60-80 hours a week. The top daily vlogers have to work every single day, and most edit their own stuff which take hours to do every day, they literally have no days off during the year. All the annotations and subscribing mentions..etc. They have to promote themselves, this is their full time job. Anyone who hosts an ORG, promotes it on many different sites, they're trying to get views on their videos just like you're trying to get eyeballs on your game/site. I would rather watch a 30 second ad and support my favorite youtubers than watch a tv show and sit through 20 minutes of commercials or spend 5 minutes fast forwarding through all the commercials. Try to walk outside and go 5 minutes without having some sort of advertisement thrown in your face. Some youtubers get a bad wrap thinking they make a ton of money for doing "nothing", the top ones are legit, but there are some shitty ones that give youtubers a bad name.

Fake thumbnails and phony titles do nothing but cheapen the system. It's promotion, but it's cheap promotion. And since they're already on the top, them constantly doing this keeps them on the top. The problem YouTube has now is that everyone has to play the game like this. There's no room to rise and a lot of really quality channels are held down because of it. It's over the top ridiculous. I understand from a business standpoint why a clueless suit loves the money these guys rake in, but it still annoys the piss out of me.

Obviously by "nothing" I am exaggerating, but it still baffles me that the shit that is turned out on YouTube makes people millionaires. I think that's quite a sad state of society personally. It's fucking garbage. All these shitheads would sink faster than a rock if they tried to make it outside the internet.

They're called YouTube Whores and they've destroyed the site. Ayup. I really miss when youTube was just about turning a camera on and talking or recording something interesting. The bulk of it is awful wannabe skit shows that are aimed towards 13-15 year old girls. It baffles me how someone like Pewdiepie can become the face of the gaming community on YouTube over guys who have been recording incredibly entertaining stuff on there since the sites existence. Any time I see fake thumbnails, double innuendo titles, PLEASE SUBSCRIBE AND DON'T FORGET TO THUMBS UP annotations I feel like kicking a baby.

This is a good comment and I could go on about this forever. I miss when YouTube had a lo-fi aesthetic and everything was shot on bad webcams. Yeah, it was shitty picture quality but there's something that's more genuine about someone making a video in their basement as opposed to someone who over-polishes their videos to be flawless. It's all about getting the most subscribers and in turn, more YouTube revenue. Most of these YouTubers love to insert WACKY and HILARIOUS MEMES as well which become dated in a year's time (see: any joke about Gangnam Style, Harlem Shake, etc).

My favorite YouTuber of all-time is a weird socially awkward kid named Daxflame. He hasn't updated his channel regularly in about seven years but if you've been on the Internet for a while then you may remember his crazy antics. To this day I'm still not sure if he's a genuine weirdo or if it's all just an elaborate act. The comedy may be hit or miss for a lot of people but it definitely hits for me.

Other YouTube channels I enjoy:
penguinz0 -- Video game commentator who picks the weirdest, most obscure video games to play. Totally monotone voice which complements the deadpan humor.

Classic Game Room -- Mark is just a likable guy who loves video games and he seems like he'd be a bro to hang out with.

Angry Video Game Nerd -- Yeah, his act is tired now but his early videos are funny and sometimes surprisingly informative about video game history.

Barats and Bereta -- old YouTube comedy skit group. I don't think they've updated in a while either.

I just watched a video on Facebook that a bunch of my friends were commenting on. They said it was absolutely disgusting, but I watched it and laughed so hard. I looked up the video to post in Boolshit and saw that it was by HowToBasic and remembered someone posted about that in here. I had never seen or heard of it before

I can't find the exact one I watched but it was basically him just mashing food into an xbox 360. I thought it was so weirdly funny
