Me and my girlfriend are about to be dating for 4 years now.
I'm broke as a joke but i still need to find her something nice she'll like. A nice poster or vinyl figurine mayhaps. If I could afford the Animal Crossing 3DS I'd get her that. | |

@mal you don't need to buy her anything I think. she stayed with you for almost 4 years and I guess you've never been about money, rich or something, so it's not the materilistic things that make her stay, it's you. good for you btw. so unless you really feel she ought to get a materialistic present for some reason, keep it all natural: wrap yourself up and give herr a big hug... then tell her to unwrap the gift and have fun with it (: | "There he goes. lol Henry we aren't the flowers and earrings kind of couple but we always get each other gifts, usually practical things you would normally want someone to give you as a gift, DVDs, CDs, action figures (lol), books, she likes books a lot. | |

sounds good. I hate materialistic thinking women, people in general. speaking of books....they're one of the greatest mediums ever and I so rarely use it. simon beckett supposingly writes good books. thrillers about murders (mostly a serial kill I think), very detailed on the medical/forensic aspect with the main (re-occuring) protag being a forensic expert or something. buy her that book ;D

After my recent spate of extreme brokenness I'm putting that one to the test and so far we're good. I've been pretty liberal with money throughout our relationship. At the end of the day if you can't afford gifts that should be fine.
I'm not a big fan of the hallmark gift buying stuff in general. I'll do Christmas and birthday but that's it.
