Admittedly I didn't even like it much when it came out, but I was also in college and not giving a lot of the episodes my full attention, but I went back and re-watched more closely over my long winter break and it's honestly so objectively good once I get past my bias towards male characters lol. Like, it has very dramatic, almost cartoon-ish villains, and then they get their comeuppance at the hands of the least likely person. The final 5 is all really likable. And honestly the FTC was the most surprised I had been at an FTC result since...maybe Nicaragua? Maybe ever? I legitimately thought the runner up was gonna win going in, so that was a nice surprise because it hides the winner kind of well, unless you are a confessional count nerd. But yeah, really like seasons where the endgame is all likable people which is why MvGX is actually one of my favorites all-time, but I chose KR over it because, objectively, MvGX almost has TOO LITTLE conflict. KR also has a realllllly solid premerge which I think will get a first time viewer hooked. I wanted to go with a modern season, and almost every but 2017 me likes KR so I went with it as what I would recommend to someone.

I said Marquesas bc it’s literally when the players actually started being strategic while still keeping the like old school vibes too. Marquesas is easily one of my fav seasons.
