Yeah you might be able to find some via trading or with the matsuda method or the shiny charm (not as easy to get you need to get all 497 pokemon to unlock it)

But the Matsuda method makes it a little easier to get a shiny egg. You just need a pokemon from a different country traded to you... either an Eevee or a Ditto and breed it with the opposite pokemon of youir region.

Still a longshot but slightly less long of a shot.

Don't try any codes, there's always the odd chance you try that code and it backfires, and sometimes it creates bad egg (one you can't get rid of) and the worst part is, it turns the 6th pokemon in your party into that egg, so not only can you not get rid of it, you also lose a pokemon.

I was afraid it may be a risk which is why I didn't. I appreciate the warning and won't try it.

Yea, he's not going to spend the next year of his life trying to do something this time consuming for someone else. Thanks for the info, I let him read it. He didn't realize at the time how rare these really are.

In the 14 or so years that I've been playing the Pokemon series, I've only ever encountered about 4 shiny pokemon in any of the games, let alone a specific one I wanted.

So yeah, not worth the time.

lol other than Gyarados I've only seen one shiny pokemon and that was an Unown that I didn't even realise was shiny until after I ran from the battle out of habit.

I've had Pokerus more than a shiny.

Though I did hack a few shinys back in my Silver version days with my friend's game Pelican... mostly to use them in mini-games in Stadium 2.

The only 4 shinies I have found without cheats were a Sandshrew, some forgettable bird from Hoenn, Tentacool, and Gyrados. :/

But heck shinies in Gen II were determined by stats and not RNG.

I found a shiny metapod once. That amused me to no end.

apparently getting Pokerus is more rare than shinies but I've got pokerus at least once... which is all it took I just transferred it to the other games since then.

I don't think many of you play sports games, but this is NBA 2k14 for the Xbox One. Dat detail.

I don't watch a lick of basketball but I do play 2K's basketball games to make up for EA's laziness on Madden. I've never had more fun with a sports game before 2K13.... and with a sport that I usually hate no less.

Yeah, 2K's game are so fun to play when it comes to basketball, it's realistic in terms of playing and not arcade-ish which I love.
