It seems the military took precaution to avoid civilian caualties.

My guess is due to the location of the attack is wasn't as big a risk.

Yeah but reports like this help the press. And not having visitor logs is part of the reason no one knew why the fuck Devin Nunes was at the White House.

It's not like Trump can't have secret meetings at Trump tower anyway.

I know the policy was put in place by Obama, but by reversing it just makes this Trump Admin look even sketchier and more guilty than they already look.

I think maybe your preconceptions are clouding your view of the actual policy. It never allowed for total transparency, which it should. Obama could have all the backdoor WH meetings he wanted and just redact what was released. Being shut out is no worse than being lied to, imo.

Hand picked releases don't help the press. They help control the press.

I mean there's a reason the press ask Spicer for the visitor in almost every briefing and he says "we'll look into it." They like to cross reference those lists with what the executive is actually sharing in order to point out lack of transparency/indiscrepencies. The Trump White House knows this so it's probably motivating them.
