I know it was the Evan guy. I heard him one afternoon before the election on NPR and he was a whackadoo. His whole goal was to win Utah or Arizona, so that no candidate could get to the 271 minimum, and it'd go to a vote of the senate or something, and they'd pick him as the "sane" option instead of Trump.

After today, I think I'm with Primate...Burn it all down. If there are 50 mostly old white men that can look their wives and daughters in the face and vote yes on this guy, simply because he's 'conservative', then we need to burn the whole place to the ground and start over. Our value as women doesn't lie in our relation to men.

If there are 50 mostly old white men who can look WOMEN--half of the population-- in the face and vote yes on this guy after the heinous display this week, then we need to burn the whole place to the ground and start over.

I've just been super frustrated this week. I keep thinking about how Kamala Harris or Amy Klobuchar, or even a Republican woman (if there were one on the Judiciary committee...looool yeah right) would have been treated, or what the reaction would have been, had they had exploded the way Lindsey Graham did during the hearing the other day. Even the privilege to blow up like that and have it be acceptable is only an option for (white) men (I say white because let's be real, the reaction to Cory Booker acting that way would be different too). If it wasn't already abundantly clear before this week, it's clear now. We have a long way to go as a society. Voting the right way in November will hopefully make a small improvement but we need extreme cultural change.

I agree with you. They should be ashamed to vote to confirm this guys simply on the merits. I guess my point was, it's even worse, if they vote to confirm him and can still look at their family/friends with a straight face.

It seems to me that there's a political fight to this guy, the left tries to remove him and the right tries to keep him.

It's a battle of numbers and who's on what team, not as much about morals.

Your two sides seems to have been driven apart more and more these last two years, and it seems this thing is just going to drive another wedge between hardline right and left.

Culture seems to have been changing a lot, though. I just feel like there's an equal strong counter reaction to it.
