The other day, I watched was D.E.B.S. (which is cheesy and cute, and first time I ever saw it was when my dad rented it for my friend, my sister, and I and none of us (including him) knew about that "college-aged spy girl protagonist falls for thief lady antagonist who never gets caught" plotline (my dad's reaction to it was basically "lol oh")), but I also watched a movie called Solo and I need to talk about that. It's from 1996 and about a runaway military android who refuses to kill innocents. I'd never heard of it and I watched it and oh my god. It's bad but good because of how bad it is and I need to find it in some $3 DVD bin.

So far we've watched Christmas Vacation and Elf. Lots of Christmas movies planned for this week.

Anchorman 2
So good. It might not be as QUOTABLE but I thought it was as funny as the first

Dog Day Afternoon
DAG this was good. It managed to build a whole world full of complex individuals in the context of a really tense, tight situation. The performances from Cazale and Sarandon were good enough, but then you have Pacino doing some of his finest work ever. Can't believe it took me this long to watch it

Cloud Atlas
By the time it was over I felt as old as Tom Hanks looked in the last scene. I enjoyed it quite a bit, but I feel like I need to watch it again because I'm sick and was having a hard time paying attention for the first thirty minutes to an hour due to restlessness. Maybe I'll just read the book.

Evil Dead (2013)
It was definitely good with regards to the gore, pacing, and creep-factor.
I think it tries to be very "80's horror" but it just turns out annoying. The characters are stupid and don't communicate or think logically. It's worth the watch.
6/10
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
I wasn't a big fan of the first Hobbit tbh, but this one was incredible. That river/barrell scene was inspired. I can forgive the forced love triangle because I know the studio made them do that. Some of the shots (like the underwater cam) were very lazy. It seems like everyone is into making this move but Peter Jackson.
7/10

I'm re-watching the Evil Dead remake right now. I dig it big time. The characters are indeed pretty retarded, though. Especially well-meaning but friend-damning long hair dude.
