It's strange to see such hostile reactions from the people who also claim some people take games too seriously and that Mafia is a silly party game. Pick one stance and stick to it. It's either super serious business with a code of ethics that should be posted somewhere, like a constitution, or a fun game that people don't pull their hair out over.

Spooky Castle has always been a bizarre game (I mean it's only Spooky Castle II but the theme of it is kind of avant garde and I'd like to think the people who are active get that aspect of it) not meant to be quite like other Mafia games. It is satirical of past events while also having a running plot. Spooky Castle 1 played on my own ego, and was really about making fun of myself by having the self absorbed Quentin refuse to let go of the things that happened in ATTWS IV, a game that was said and done. This led to his demise and the rise of Ishanru. Now Quentin is repenting in Spooky Castle II. These things aren't exactly subtle to people who followed the first game and are in this one.

In fact, I like running these games during/immediately following the more "legit" stuff because it juxtaposes them.

My WWE Game with Zersch is a "serious" one and THAT'S a game where seeing things "ripped off" from other people's games could be more critiqued. It may sound like a cop out, but seeing familiar things is part of what Spooky Castle is all about.

I stated that characters could be anyone or anything. As you can see, some people took advantage of that. As they were able to.

I'm obviously hypocritical for notoriously treating mafia games like life or death situations in the past, but I'm trying to do this crazy thing where I evolve as a person, and these Castle games are silly catharsis for people (hey, the people who got modkilled, I'm sure they felt some sense of accomplishment. Though that now makes you less than me, for you fell more than I did in becoming my past self. Just think though, to annoy me you messed things up for people who were trying to have a fun time. Luckily there were plenty of people to start and the mess has left a still decent number for a hopefully more stable game going forward) while also being a creative outlet for storytelling.

My game is going to be Big Brother themed. Hard at work on it!

I legitimately thought most people were taking this as a joke, but I guess not everyone is. That's why I made the comment about it stemming before you were here Moose, because the first one was clearly supposed to be a joke.

I'm not trying to ruin any game! Nor am I trying to be rude. The first one was a joke, it seemed like the 2nd one was because it was all the same shit as the first one. Forgive me if it's not, I'll just not host mine then if everyone is busy with that one.

I want you to host your game. Even if people are busy with another one, not everyone is in it. And the people who are can probably handle another one at the same time.

I actually signed up not taking it seriously, but once I thought this was the game everyone wanted to go with and saw that it was hosted on Ndim I put on my sailor's cap and jumped onboard. Then all this happened and I got confused. I wouldn't mind you hosting Vic lol. :)

Therein lies the madness of the Spooky Castle.

I'm not treating it quite like a joke, it's a legitimate game with legitimate rules and roles, but it's still all in good fun with loose character guidelines and all of that jazz.

This is definitely more structured than the first game, even if it seems less so with the chaotic Day 1 and Day 2.

But it says DD is next in the queue, so if he's not ready, I'll keep my mouth shut.

Adelle died, Lucy lived. So Adelle could rise again as Quentin rose again.


Also, I didn't plan the modkills. Vic posted about his character here so I killed him, and Lachance, who I won't reveal until the game is over, decided to just screw around and ruin things.


This game IS meant to be taken seriously. Just not as seriously as "Oh, it's illegal to do this" like in some other games. Obviously I've enforced the general rules twice now by modkilling two people. I really hope no one else screws around.

I think what Brian meant is why did the modkills end the day threads lol?

I always have games ready BTW. Schrauben and I have 10 or so games at hand we can pick from and run. Just keep that in mind whenever you need games run.
