Secret in Their Eyes.
Pretty good! There were a few problems I had with it but nothing major. It didn't blow me away or anything but there were a few really great scenes
|
One was the foot chase in the soccer stadium. One of the better chase scenes I've seen. I was on the edge of my seat
The other was the interrogation scene. Loved how she just fucking demolished him
Also I liked the symbolism/motifs used throughout. Especially the "missing A" thing and how they paid that off. That was pretty CLEVER |

The shot of the stadium through the chase scene was incredible. They executed it so well |

Watched a movie on Netflix called Europa Report. It's a space mission/things go drastically wrong type movie, but it's a very good one. Good suspense and really solid/familiar actors like Sharlto Copley. Some of the images from it were fantastic, especially the end. It's only 90 minutes long and on Netflix. Worth a watch for sure

Just watched Machete Kills, it had the possibility of some great plots, but for some reason they didn't reveal them unlike in the first movie.

Pescador
Some foreign comedy about a bunch of cocaine washing up in a fishing village. One guy decides to try his luck at taking his kilos into another city to sell for higher prices with the help of a woman and her contacts. I thought it was pretty good, but I missed the very end of it so I can only wonder how it ended. I can't find a plot synopsis and it doesn't seem to be playing again anytime soon.

Anyone else seeing Catching Fire tonight? | A lesson without pain is meaningless. That's because no one can gain without sacrificing something. But by enduring that pain and overcoming it, he shall obtain a powerful, unmatched heart. A fullmetal heart. |

I'm travelling home for Thanksgiving and staying for an extra week or so, hoping to catch it then with my family or some friends. I've been hearing it does the book justice. So excited.

I agree Pat
Jude Law is great | "So, uh, what are we saying here? If we save LA from a nuclear bomb, then you and I can get together for dinner and a movie?"

The Chaser - A Korean thriller. The best kinds of thrillers! Really good movie. It's about a serial killer who targets prostitutes, their PIMP who tries to find him, and all the bumbling, inept cops along the way. Great acting and storytelling. Really sad as I'm finding every single Korean revenge thriller to be. Some great chase and fight sequences too

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
One of the many very good movies from Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli. I feel like this one is sort of a precursor to Princess Mononoke with the epic journey of the protagonist trying to mend relations between humans and the natural world. It's not quite as violent as Mononoke but has a good amount of action in the form of airship battles, swordfights, and giant insect attacks. A lot of it also seems to have inspired the Final Fantasy games, especially VI--the mixture of sci-fi technology and old fantastical settings definitely feels similar, but the presence of chocobo-like animals in the opening scene and the prominence of airships only deepens the similarities. It's not my favorite from Ghibli but I still recommend it if you haven't seen it, especially if you enjoyed Princess Mononoke. | Nintendo Network ID: EctoCooler47 |
