As the sun begins to set, the group gets more and more tense. Fingers are pointed back and forth, but nobody seems to have a clear choice. Finally, people start to push Herm; after all, why can't he just treestump and save everyone the trouble?

"Fine," says Herm. "I'll treestump!"

But nothing happens. At that point, the back door opens. The crowd begins to push Herm towards the door.

"No, treat me kind. I'm like a virgin, you know!"

Herm is shoved through the door, which slams shut behind him.
