Is a hotdog between two or more pieces of bread y/n?
n???????
Oh then it’s not a sandwich of course |
Yes, it is. They just aren't split all the way, just like with the various names of submarine sandwich where the roll isn't split all the way. Please argue that they are not sandwiches. |
We aren’t talking about anything other than hotdogs, though a sub is eaten the same way a hamburger and any other sandwich is eaten, horizontally. Hotdogs are held and eaten vertically like a taco. That’s a big difference (and no, holding a hodog sideways does not change what it is). Composition is EVERYTHING! If you fold a pizza up does it become a sandwich? Meat and toppings between bread? FUCK NO!
Explain to me how a hotdog bun is two separate pieces of bread |
I don't know about you, but I eat a philly cheesesteak sandwich the same way I eat a hotdog, because I eat at the side, which happens to be the same way you eat a taco. So again- you argue that the philly cheesesteak is therefore *not* a sandwich? Again, I eat meatball subs this same way- pretty much any sub sandwich, because eating it like a hamburger wouldn't work.
And yes, we are talking about other things, because that's how classification systems work. You don't say "Humans aren't mammals because we're different from pigs and pigs are mammals". Classifications are done by comparing the similar traits to then group like items under a single definition. And, by every argument, if a submarine sandwich is a sandwich, then a hot dog is also a sandwich, no matter how much you want it to be special and different.
Pizza is not a sandwich in itself, since it is served on a single slice of flat bread. But if you press two slices together, or if you throw the pizza toppings onto a roll you've sliced for the purpose, then it has become a sandwich. | How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat? |

I already noted this pages ago. First off, they want their product to be viewed as special, rather than just another sandwich., Their argument was "The Dali Lama isn't just a guy" is incorrect, since he is, in fact, a guy. So they've essentially argued that they are, in fact, a sandwich, no matter how special they feel it is.

I wouldn’t go anywhere near a Philly cheesesteak OR a hotdog

The fact that you think smooshing two pizzas together turns them into a sandwich invalidates everything you stand for

So what do you think of flat bread sandwiches then?

The fact you won't goo near a philly cheesesteak invalidates everything you stand for. A well-made philly is a beautiful thing.

I've come to the conclusion that it entirely depends on the bun tbh. If the back of it is 'connected', then it's really no different from a taco, which is obviously not a sandwich. But if there's two separate pieces of bread, then it becomes a sandwich |
What happens if the bun accidentally splits? Sandwich? |
The connection doesn't matter. Otherwise a submarine sandwich isn't a sandwich and Subway has to question it's very existence, because they've been serving modified tacos the whole time. ;)
|
This is why I asked Boc who mentioned connection :)

Obviously it's not a sandwich.
Anyone who thinks so is brain dead. |
I have yet to hear a single argument that invalidates it as a sandwich and instead a lot of people who just say stuff like this. I feel like we're having a discussion with Alex Jones that, no matter how much logic you provide, he still believes that lizard aliens are controlling the government.

I insist that anyone who thinks a hot dog is not a sandwich must now follow Boc's lead and tell people they want a hot dog taco.

A hot dog bun is one connecting piece of bread. It's really it's own category tbh

And yet all the other split-roll breads are still sandwiches. It's amazing that you believe a hot dog is somehow special and different, but cannot indicate why it is different.
