is the original movie worth watching? I'm thinking about watching that sometime during the long wait for S2. I've heard it's a lot more schlocky than this though

My theory: Ford is alive.

He has known the moves the board was taking for some time and has been working to keep one step ahead of them at all times. He has a number of unregistered hosts floating around, as we already know. He likely made the changes in Maeve's programming; note that he wasn't surprised at all when Bernard showed up at the gala, despite the fact that Bernard had shot himself in the head last episode. He likely sent a host version of himself to the gala to get killed by Delores; Teddy already had the exact vision of Wyatt coming out and shooting the "General" in the same manner. If anything, Ford is finally giving William/MIB what he's been looking for.

I suspect that we'll have nothing but Ford flashback early on next season, with a reveal that he's alive and been hiding out in the house with his unregistered "family" and his secret lab.

Also- Samurai World means they likely have Medieval World and Roman World like the original movie.

It's very 70s, but it is a fun romp. Don't look for any depth other than "rogue droids killing" It's not Bladerunner by any stretch. ;)

I thought the original was worth watching, aye. It's an entertaining movie.

Also, I like the Ford is alive theory, though I do think it would cheapen the last scene somewhat if it were true.

Do you think we'll get that look at SWorld in season two or was that just a throwaway world so audiences would know about the other parks? Will we see another world in season two, SWorld or otherwise?

I definitely think we will. It'd be too much of a tease to go to the trouble of showing that if they weren't gonna show more worlds later

I think they are setting up the spin off for this show well ahead of time. Eastworld, aye.

Would you go to Eastworld or Westworld?

Just seen this! I would go to Westworld for sure.

I hope Ford is dead. He wanted the hosts to be free, he accomplished that as his last hoorah.

There isn't anyone else short of Arnold or Bernard who could have done all the backend programming on Maeve, and having Arnold see that far into the future is much more of a cheap shot than Ford faking his own death. In fact, I find it out of character for Ford to just let himself be offed intentionally when he knows he has a way to free Delores from her programming and still live- after all, isn't that how they did Clem in- by making her believe another host was actually a human guest?

I dunno, I can see the reasoning behind Ford making that sacrifice. If it was just a host version of himself, then the choice that Dolores made would be a bit of a lie, since she thought she was pulling the trigger on a human. Killing a host would maybe be somewhat traumatic for her but at the same time, it's possible to repair a host, whereas shooting a human in the head is permanent. But I think the bigger point is that hosts aren't allowed to kill humans, but they can kill other hosts. So the fact that a host made a choice like that proves their consciousness without a doubt

I don't think a host version of Ford being still alive is out of the question tho

I think the point is that Delores *wouldn't* know it wasn't Ford. Nobody but Bernard knows about Ford's special lab and ability to make his own unregistered hosts. She even thought Bernard was Arnold when introduced, not a host that looked like Arnold. As was witnessed with Clem being overridden to kill a host she was programed to recognize as human, that Ford has done the same thing.

Dang son. A bicaramel mind after all. Crazy finish. Cool backstory on Wyatt, I dig it. Maeve's story kind of ended up a little pointless. We'll see how it goes next season. Am I correct in saying Logan/Billy was the only story in the past? Everything else was present?

Favorite moment of the episode hands down was when felix started doing robot arms to see if he was a robot.

Logan's send off was kind of lame. He was the best.
