That was the most confusing part for me. I kinda just figured they took a separate boat after him though and boarded the other boat at King's Landing but I think the bigger question is why Trystane would STILL be on that boat after Jaime got off of it hours ago. Unless this was simultaneous with Jaime/Myrcella getting off

People pointed out that Trystane goes with Jaime and co onto the boat to go to Kings Landing at the end of S5 while the sand snakes stay behind. But suddenly tonight the two sand snakes were on the boat with Trystane (:

|
Seriously though, how did they get onto the boat? They were clearly back in Dorne during last season. |
|
That's what I was saying. My best guess is they hopped on another boat after Jaime's did and sailed after them, then got on Trystane's boat when it stopped in the harbor? |
|
This show goes out of its way to never inform you of how much time has passed. Like Doran got the scroll, but it doesn't demonstrate that first the boat has to arrive, then the info has to be transferred back to Dorne, so I'm assuming at least a month has passed. So sand snakes probably sailed to KL to "escort" Doran, but they're not going to tell you that that all happened. |
|
the boat would have ravens though. it's a huge plot hole |
|
I'm starting to think Dorne was really just a giant joke by D&D. They can't think fans take this seriously, do they? It's a bizarre phenomenon. |

honestly outside of some logical inconsistencies I thought it was a pretty solid stage-setting episode. Dorne is shit but we already knew that last season. I think all the other storylines look pretty intriguing

Yeah. Dorne aside it wasn't bad at all.
I didn't like the last minute save from Brienne. It felt too clicheish for GoT. What did you think of the scene? | 'Oh my god, it's full of stars!'

that would be one of the other logical inconsistencies to me, her happening upon Stannis AND Sansa is kinda ridic. Brienne's show storyline is 100% reversed from the book really. In the books she has the worst luck finding anybody, while on the show she's found Arya, Sansa (twice), and Stannis
The other big one (moreso from last season) is I still don't get why Alliser would let Jon through the gate at all if they were just gonna betray him, that's still not really explained. Now they have thousands of angry wildlings within their walls after killing their only real ally in the Night's Watch
J-bear/Daario finding the ring surprisingly made sense. I didn't think of the horse tracks leaving a circle like that

Any possibility of the Dornish army possibly being the show version of Aegon's army?
Creating a war between the other kingdoms which would make it easier for Dany to sweep on in?
Or is it just wishful thinking?
Dorne HAS to lead somewhere, right? |

This p. much sums up my thoughts better than I can:
http://time.com/4306039/review-game-of-thrones-season-premiere/
I was most engaged by the Davos storyline and wanted to see how that got resolved but...nothing. My biggest complaint is that almost each scene brought us exactly where we knew the storylines would be slightly nudged based on the trailer. But the Castle Black stuff was the worst of it. They showed that clip that we posted a few days ago from episode TWO! And that clip was exciting and I was waiting for it to happen but it didn't. I don't know WHY they would show a clip that far in the future because now we just spent the premiere still waiting to get to that point which made things kinda lackluster. Seems like a weird move to me
As goofy as The Walking Dead gets I feel like they get premieres dead on compared to game of thrones. TWD makes their premieres EVENTS which they should be after all the hyping the show's do, where as GoT always feels a bit recapy and underwhelming after the long wait. All GoT premieres have been like this but it's a shame to have to get used to the premiere quality being low

God damn it, how they have butchered Doran.
Does that mean Obarra is next in line?
How did Areo, a huge man, die of one stab in the back with a small knife? Surely he could have easily turned around and swung his axe at Tyene before dying. Seemed very unrealistic to me
lol´d at Melisandre being like a really old woman. Stannis was hitting that hard.
This episode didnt really reveal anything, I am pretty much we could have all guesses nearly everything in that episode correctly after the last finale.

I think I know why they went this route. Given the clusterfuck last season and the time constraints, they needed to get things moving fast in Dorne, and killing off Doran and putting the Sand Snakes in charge was an easy way to do that.
Still, it doesn't change the fact that they have completely wasted an interesting character from the books, and that none of this makes any god damn sense. Ellaria wants to avenge her husband so...her and her daughters conspire to assassinate his brother. Wut?
Doesn't help that these are the only Dornish characters left, and they are all shit. Ellaria and the Sand Cunts. Book Sand Snakes are pretty cool. The show versions are just annoying.
Also, what was with the Dothraki scenes? Why did the show suddenly decide to turn into a medieval sitcom? The bro's talking about banging Dany and the insubordinate henchmen correcting their Khal on all the things that are better than seeing a beautiful woman naked felt really out of place.
