I wish Origin would say how long these sales are going to last. It's calling it an "(almost) black friday" sale, but there are so many other games I want, and can probably get cheaper, and while those I can probably put on my christmas wishlist/buy with chistmas money, this would be my own. And I'm not sure they deserve my money more than the other things I'm considering.

I got it... wonder if the price will keep going down from there but I doubt it. Man I remember when all Sims games were $29.99.

I managed to keep the save from my arrrr'd game which works well enough for me and the crashing which caused me to stop playing has finally come to a cease.

The fucking community creations are so hilariously awful. One of the most downloaded ones is literally just eight shirtless men.

I was going to buy it, and realized I spent the rest of my money on my friend's birthday present, so no sims for me right now!

I bought the standard version and justified it as "Well at least I'll have it for years and I won't have bought it for the full price like Spore..."

So far I've only been able to play a little bit. The mouse controls are being extremely problemative for me while my mouse is doing whatever is wrong with it. I was only able to get out of character creation by using my tablet.

I made two families. The first was some boring girl and I was going to give her an equally boring husband and see what sorts of trajedies life could inflict on them as they try to build a family (prediction: absolutely none without interference, leading to the great mysterious house full of chairs oven fire of 2014), but then the randomized husband looked like SUCH a douche (as all sims 4 men do if you arent very very careful) that I decided they would be girlfriend boyfriend and he would be a serial datist and I gave her a more attractive sister to make things complicated and see if the game would jump on the very obvious chance without me pushing it too much. But the fact that you can't start sims as dating or engaged in CAS made me decide that I didnt feel like playing them.

So next I made the Chans. The dad, Sullivan(?) looked older than the usual randomed male, so I decided he would be a little more mature and be a single dad, so I made him look like he's a hard worker and made him materialistic but I also wanted him to be a good and loving father so I made his aspiration Successful Lineage, since he doesn't want a big family, he just wants his daughter to have a good life. It seemed very sweet and rootable. Then his daughter Shelby spawned with the play with genetics with a random woman I added to be the mother. The clothing was so dorky and mismatched and she had big glasses so I decided her only trait, because kids only have one for some fucking reason, would be being a nerd because it sounded cute. And her aspiration is to be smart, because I figure thats what a nerd girl would do.

Then I realized I made an Asian-American family with a strict father who strives for success from his offspring and a daughter whose only defining charactistic is being a nerd and wanting to be smarter than everyone else and I might just go make a third family or something.

Is it worth it rose? I might get it tonight if it is. I haven't played Sims on the computer on ages, just on Gamecube/360

Honestly, I can't really say yet. My mouse issues are making a lot of stuff impossible, but i should be getting a new mouse tomorrow. I might give it one more try tonight.

A lot of stuff feels stripped down compared to TS3, not even the stuff everyone else is whining about, but it feels more like a console game than the other games have, so you'll probably enjoy it anyway

Anyway I played a bit more, just making a third family and building their house half from blueprints and half from scratch. My mouse situation is still an issue but less of one the way i have it set up (it seems to be that the wire is the problem. Gonna buy a new mouse).

There's some build things I really like that I didn't get to properly test out yet. Going to put my newest family through testing now.

I tried to record with my game as I played but it didb't work. It was just 50 minutes of me going ACK STOP FREEZING and I GUESS I'LL DO THIS I GUESS I'LL DO THIS

Well. Something happened and now even my tablet cant save me. Everything is rotating eternally and even alt tabbing out i cant click on anything. And there seems to be no hotkey listed anywhere for saving.

I caved and got it at Target while Black Friday shopping for 35 bucks. I wish it was 30, but simmers can't be choosers, right?

Hopefully it'll run okay on my computer, or it will be money wasted. Going to install it now!

EDIT: So am I supposed to have two discs in my case? i don't see anything on the instructions about doing anything with Disc 2. Do I really need it?

I found out why I needed Disc 2.
