A lot of girls are just as different and unique as guys are. All of the girls I know are all different, once you really get to know people you realize how different and unique we all are. | | |

I'm not being serious, and on the point of not using gender for humor, most TV shows and movies should not be viewed if you are against that. Even having a strong female protagonist is in itself sexist if at any point the fact that she's both a woman and strong is brought up. If a character says "she's not your average girl", you should change the channel eh?
EDIT: Also, even when it comes to stand up comedians, I don't think I've ever seen a full show where a male comedian didn't say "women" at some point or a female comedian didn't say "men" in the context of a bit.

Agreed. I have an autistic brother, yet I didn't flip out. I'm not sure if Nofo was being 100% serious with her taking offense though. | A survivor becomes a leader...

I personally love strong female protagonists. I think it's better to show that than to show weak, stupid female characters but, either way, it's all sexist. I don't think we can really get away from sexism. We're just different. Men are from Mars, etc etc. | | |
