The thing that annoys me the most is the whole "say something something for 2 seconds then jumpcut" trend. I refuse to watch any of those videos as soon as I see the first jumpcut
And I actually like that all the terrible YouTubers have those greenscreen thumbnails because at least it tells you which videos to avoid
I don't mind the PLEASE THUMBS UP SUBSCRIBE COMMENT annotations or the fake thumbnails as much as the way a lot of the youtubers TALK. It's these annoying E! presenter inflections that I can't tolerate. It's really hard to explain, but it makes me so angry.
This guy does it. You only need to watch about 25 seconds in to see what I mean, and that's only because the first 10 seconds are an annoying intro.
It's not hard to explain really, they're wannabe celebs and actors basically lol. YouTube has kind of given everyone the feeling that they're celebrities, even moreso because of how easy it is. They don't have agents to deal with or contracts or networks pressuring them for ratings. Nothing like that. It's just post video, teenagers going OMG EPIC LOL, and start over again tomorrow.
And here's something that's flat out depressing. This is sort of why I like being subscribed to TheArchfiend because he is a YouTube Partner and gives a lot of insight on how the system works. Partnership is a little deal where someone with a high amount of views can earn ad revenue from people watching their videos. This guy actually bought an extremely nice two story home strictly with the money he's made off of YouTube and he only gets a couple of thousand hits for his videos these days, so that's eye opening. Guys like the asshole in the video you posted is probably in a similar boat. Shane Dawson? Millions. RayWilliamJohnson? Millions. PewDewPie? Millions. These shitheads literally do nothing but make terrible videos and make more money than I could ever dream of making for them.

The video you posted is a guy who can turn the camera on and ramble about nonsense news stories and get views because of the titles. These are the people making terrible videos for doing nothing.
You might not like the content of Shane Dawson, RWJ, or PewDewPie, but these guys take a lot of time to produce their videos. Most have their own production team and editors, it's not like they spend 10 minutes putting a video together. Some of the top youtubers are working 60-80 hours a week. The top daily vlogers have to work every single day, and most edit their own stuff which take hours to do every day, they literally have no days off during the year.
All the annotations and subscribing mentions..etc. They have to promote themselves, this is their full time job. Anyone who hosts an ORG, promotes it on many different sites, they're trying to get views on their videos just like you're trying to get eyeballs on your game/site.
I would rather watch a 30 second ad and support my favorite youtubers than watch a tv show and sit through 20 minutes of commercials or spend 5 minutes fast forwarding through all the commercials. Try to walk outside and go 5 minutes without having some sort of advertisement thrown in your face. Some youtubers get a bad wrap thinking they make a ton of money for doing "nothing", the top ones are legit, but there are some shitty ones that give youtubers a bad name.
