The top of a cookie jar is a door to the cookies

if you get cookie jars we get wheels of cheese.

I can live with that.

We get drawers though. Doors for clothes.

The more I think about this the more I think maybe wheels have the edge. Being a simple machine wheels sort of incorporate into a lot of different things than cars or bikes. Whereas doors are more limited in what is and is not a door. Because... Say a door needs to have a hinge. Well there are sliding doors but how is a sliding door different than a window? And every car has 4 windows on it's 4 doors so that would really boost the number but I don't think it counts. Whereas a wheel just has to be round and roll and it's a wheel.

Tires aren't wheels. Tires go on wheels. The fact that there are tires sitting around all over the place would seem to imply there actually aren't that many wheels out there.

As an aside, when I was young, I worked in a factory that built doors. A few years later I went to a different job, where they built wheels.

I agree. The trunk lid otoh, is definitely a door.

A lot of great arguments on both sides. Once you just call cars a wash because 4 and 4 and bring it down to every other door vs every other wheel, wheels start to feel like they don't stack up as well. Anyone riding a bike of some kind is probably also living in a house with a front and back door to cancel that out. I think cabinets and all the other various doors in the world clear toys and office chairs. Voted doors. Could still be convinced otherwise if I'm missing something
