Background: Maximus started off his life being taught various instruments by his family, his whole world revolving around music. Although he had an inherent love for it, it didn't catch his interest as much as exploring did. As soon as his lessons would end, he would run out into the world and spend his time jumping from tree to tree -- simply testing how far his limits could take him. Eventually he made it out of his schoolings and all of his teachers noted that he was a prodigy in music but he was.. an odd one. Always staring off into the distance, it was almost impossible to keep his attention for an entire lesson. Only one teacher was brave enough to scold him for it, rapping a rule across his knuckles if he ever got distracted. This continued for a few weeks before Maximus snapped -- sneaking into the piano teacher's home and murdering him in his sleep.

This spurred a new leaf for the boy, gaining a new love for violence. But, he always struggled to find a way to justify his murders to appease his own conscious. Traveling from town to town, he found himself using his knowledge in music to guise as a bard in the local pubs -- telling the stories of a mysterious assassin "Echo". Using this time in the pubs, he'd question the locals on the inner workings of the town until someone cracked and told him about a relationship or official they weren't happy with. That was enough reason for Maximus to jump into action, living his double life across the land. After years of striking fear into the hearts of several towns -- Maximus longed for something more. That was when he found out about the games, a chance to show off the abilities he'd been refining for years. Though he had no explicit reason to kill these people, everyone had signed up to compete -- so there were no rules and Echo was ready to unleash his true potential.
