Murder Bunny's eyes blinked to life, hardly able to stay open against the harsh light reflecting off the arena's sand. He tried to clamber to his feet, but quickly collapsed back to the ground. This...wasn't right. He hadn't felt this vulnerable since he was back home at Carrot Cove, wasting his days away hiding from predators.
He sniffled his nose sadly. Maybe his life really had just come full circle. Maybe his days of posturing as an apex predator amounted to nothing more than a farce, a mere fantasy before the reality of his place in the world's food chain came crashing back down around him.
He struggled to lift his head back up once more, just to see the arena's gate being thrust open, sending seven beasts spilling out soon after.
He saw Sandro and Calius standing side by side, bracing themselves against their near certain doom...and he knew then and there he couldn't just lay there and languish any longer.
Mayhaps, mayhaps, his reckoning was already upon him and he was about to be cast back to his natural place in the animal kingdom. But by the gods, he was about to meet his destiny head-on rather than wait for it to come to him. It was time to take matters into his own paws.
Once more, unto the breach.
