I just watched "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel," which was surprisingly good. The 50's setting, costumes, etc were great and the main character was really good.
|
Rachel Brosnahan from House of Cards is the main character and she did such a good job with her character! It was kind of satisfying, too, because I was so mad about her death in HoC. |
|
My roommate was an extra in that. She said it was written really well. I wanted to start watching it but I've just been too busy. |
And she won a Golden Globe, yay!

Watched the first four Electric Dreams. First one was the best thus far ("Real Life") and definitely has the most Dick-style questioning of reality.
"Autofac" was decent, "Human Is" was OK, and "Crazy Diamond" was meh.

End of the fucking world.
Really good. Alex Lawther is going places. You go, baby Dane DeHaan. Be bigger than he ever was. |
Just finished watching this last night as well. Thought it was really good as well.

Skipped "The Hood Maker".
"Safe and Sound" was interesting with a twist at the end, but you wanted to yell at the main character a lot to not be stupid.
"The Father Thing" is like invasion of the Body Snatchers, which is based off of a novel written the same year as "The Father Thing". Guess McCarthyism does that to you.
"Impossible Planet" was meh.
"The Commuter" was pretty good.
"Kill All Others" was awesome.

Worth giving a shot. Having read a lot of the original stories it was based off of, I knew that these were based on rather than adaptations (kind of like Blade Runner and Total Recall are not recreations of the Dick stories but rather somewhat loosely based on them.
There are a few episodes that were real stand outs, but a lot of meh ones too. | How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat? |

The Handmaid's Tale was fantastic. I was hesitant to watch this for quite some time, but I was really uneducated about the actual setting/plot of the show. I'd recommend this to everyone. A+

My wife and son have been binge watching "The 100".
I believe that has been discussed in the past.

Just started Wormwood on Netflix. iiiiiiiiiinteresting stuff. I don't know much at all about the CIA/LSD scandal so it's all very intriguing to me. The way the story is told here is cool

Are you not watching it with them.
