And you are saying that Trump isn't pulling judges from the crappy list he put together? I mean, he is keeping that promise. The fact the original list is crappy doesn't change the fact that he *is* doing it. |
RIght, but it's a dumb thing to list as a promise. What's he going to do defer the appointment?
It's like listing "I will breathe air" as a "promise"

If he put that as a campaign promise and that might have swayed people to vote for him, then yes, I would expect it to be listed. The key is that he had his list of folks that would be modeled after Scalia. That's what his crappy list contained and he's keeping that promise. While I don't agree this is a good thing, it is more than just saying "I'm gonna fill appointments." | How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat? |

A conservative candidate saying he will appoint conservative justices is not a campaign promise. It's like saying thet he planned to take a shit while in office is a campaign promise. It's dumb and shouldn't be on the list.
I can agree to disagree, though.

Scalia is a very specific type of conservative, as opposed to a Rehnquist or a Thomas. At least he didn't say he was gonna pattern his choices on Clarence Thomas. | How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat? |

Also I'm late on this one but 12 indictments filed against Russians that hacked the DNC
Pretty crazy read, an acting congressman contacted them to try to get dirt on their opponent

On October 4, 2016, U.S. Person 1 sent an email to an acquaintance. The email covered a number of topics. Within the email, U.S. Person 1 stated, "Unrelated to specific presidential campaigns, I've been involved in securing a VERY private line of communication between the Kremlin and key POLITICAL PARTY 1 leaders through, of all conduits, the [GUN RIGHTS ORGANIZATION]." Based on my training, experience, and familiarity with this investigation, I believe that this email describes U.S. Person 1's involvement in BUTINA's efforts to establish a "back channel" communication for representatives of the Government of Russia. |
Russia essentially infiltrated NRA. Will be interested to see how many politicians are deep into this. Shit's finally hitting the fan
