Does anyone here play Civilization? I've heard great things about it. It's really cheap. Thoughts?

civ is great if you like 4x games

tbh you should get one of the earlier civ games (probably 4 since it matches the current style a lot) to see if you like these sorts of games if you dont already know

Huh? No. Does anyone play? I've heard great things. It's cheap right now. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?! =P

It looks like Risk, though I've never played a minute of Risk in my life.

I'm not sure I would. I love Settlers of Catan, but have never played anything like this I don't think.

one of the most popular games of all time and for good reason. and it's far more than just risk, although many people play it that way.

for your first try at the genre, i would highly recommend starting with civ5. it's at a great price right now and worth every penny -- http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/575/Sid_Meiers_Civilization_V_Complete/

or if your hesitation is price, i can send you a key for civ3 complete, which would be an excellent introduction to the genre and not really that dated.

I feel like my vocabulary of gaming is very bland. I play usually the same type of games, sometimes the same ones over and over and I'm satisfied. While that saves me money and is all great, I'd love to really explore gaming and all it has.

This was the first one I checked. :( I'll probably end up getting it anyway.

YES!!!

Gosh, so many great games right now. Sims 3 is like 5 bucks. Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 is 3 bucks. Tempted to get Shadow of Mordor, though I'm not really into Lord of the Rings all that much.

You're not really helping my budget lol
