Just got this in the mail. Hadn't watched the show till it finished. Now it's time to binge watch.

I've been working at the same job for about 6 months at a warehouse recycling electronics. I worked part time, usually around 26-30 hours depending on the week. Things were going swell.

Around November our old manager got fired, and 2 weeks in December was a bit of Anarchy/temp managers taking place. Still going fine. New manager comes in the second half of December, exactly a month ago from today, and took charge. This new manager was nice enough, however something was up. At the time he was hired there were 6 full time workers and 5 part time workers, me being one of the part time workers.

Throughout the rest of December and into January, he started slowly releasing the part time workers and I hadn't even fully realized it. By January, he replaced 2 part time workers with 1 full time worker, and by the time last week rolled around I became the only part time worker in the warehouse. Things weren't looking good for me.

This last week, my boss told me to "Play my schedule by ear", meaning he'll basically call me or text me my hours for the day if I work. He said "Plan on working 3 days this week", which was fine with me. Monday and Wednesday I worked. Then Friday comes and he says "Don't work today". I thought this was the beginning of the end.

"Alright" I thought, "I'm going to be fired soon". I worked 18 hours that week despite planning on 27 hours, and I was missing a third of my paycheck for the week. I was scared. I decided that I'll make my friday useful and go job hunting.

I put in 2 applications. Only 2. And I got 2 call backs and interviews immediately, which was nice. One of which was for a small cafe, and they hired me this Sunday. Today was my first day working there.

Basically, my old job was about to fuck me over without giving me much headway. So the day they told me not to work basically got me hired at a new location.

All's good in the hood for me now. I work with more people my age, get 50 cents more an hour + tip money, and my commute is cut in half. I'm a happy Craig.
