that list is pretty ESSENTIAL even though it's lacking the DEER HUNTER. is the point of the analysis to look at how the movie reflects american cultural norms of the 70's? | |

Yes, pretty much. We have to think about how our film "engages" with the period and what it reflects, but we have to tie it to class readings too (although, that shouldn't be hard since the course is on the 1970's so we have things like consumerism, Vietnam, Watergate, race/gender politics, etc.)

well Godfather is a period piece though it reflects a lot of concerns of the time. If I were you I'd go with Taxi Driver. Even though it's a very small and intimate story, it has a lot to say about 70's America

Finally watched the Collection after putting it off for days.
Loved it. I remember they showed it in the trailer, but the opening scene was so great. Reminded me of the opening scene of Ghost Ship. | |
