The Man From Nowhere - Been meaning to watch this for a long time now. It's a Korean movie. Why do Korean's make the best thriller revenge movies? They're all so good. Oldboy, I Saw The Devil, and this. They all put similar American movies to shame really. This movie was a bit similar to TAKEN and it makes it looks like a piece of shit (which I kinda think it is anyway!)
BUT ANYWAY. This was very good. Great fight sequences and very great acting, especially by the lead. He was incredibly convincing. The little girl in it delivers the saddest monologue I've ever heard
It's on Netflix Instant if anyone's interested. I recommend it

never saw Hot Fuzz but i'd actually rank this above Shaun of the Dead. i may still be in the POST MOVIE HIGH but it's easily the most i've enjoyed being at the movies since Django |
I might put it above Shaun of the Dead too. Both are pretty even for me
Small part, but I laughed so hard when Nick Frost drunkenly walks into the door and jams his arm through the glass

Run Ronnie Run - I almost want to hate Odenkirk and Cross for disowning this movie. I love it and think it is hilarious.

Lars and the Real Girl - Good! Very silly concept, but it doesn't just rely on that gimmick throughout the whole movie. Gosling was a great in it

So I have to watch a movie from the 1970's for one of my courses (its a course about the 1970's in the US) and then analyze the film - its a short assignment. I am no film major so I am kind of lost, haha. It's not due for some time but if any of you have any suggestions for a film I could watch and something you guys may have some analysis for if I ever need help that would be freaking awesome :p haha
My friends have suggested:
Star Wars
Godfather
Rocky
Taxi Driver
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
Jaws (can't do the assignment on this for some reason though, he gave a huge list but said not this)
Willy Wonka
Apocalypse Now
The French Connection
Just wanted to get some of your guys opinions as well! Thanks!

All of those are great. I was gonna say Jaws at first (: . I imagine your teacher banned it because it was chosen so much, a lot of my professors would do the same

Yeah you really can't go wrong with any of those. I feel like Taxi Driver and Godfather would be the best for analysis though

Maybe he's had it done too many times in the past, haha. This is what he said we can't do, only 18 of us in a class. Grease, Saturday Night Fever have already been taken, haha (not that I would have wanted to do them)

Note: Film reviews may not be on Jaws, Nashville, Harlan County, USA, Hearts and Minds, or Network

Alien.
But no, really, if you're not doing Attack of the Killer Tomatoes you're wasting everyone's time.

The Secret in Their Eyes - Anyone else seen this? Really great movie. It's Spanish. Won the Oscar for best foreign film in like 2009. I heard it was good so I decided to randomly watch it tonight. Really glad I did. WATCH IT MY FRIENDS

god damn I REALLY wanna watch a movie. something new, but also good. that combination is hard to come by these days... | "There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die."
