I saw Oppenheimer most recently. Enjoyed it thoroughly.
I'm not a huge Nolan guy really, but this was probably my favourite movie he's done. Last scene gave me chills.
I was kind of pre-warned that all the dialogue would be interspersed with out of place dramatic music, which is the biggest critique I would've had anyway so I think it bothered me a bit less because it wasn't quite that bad in reality.
Watched The Meg 2, which was basically unwatchable and had me mashing the FF button. Would not recommend to anyone.
Also watched the new TMNT movie. Was pretty good. Typical super hero stuff. Also watched Black Adam last week. Was better than I was expecting but not as good as the TMNT movie. Today I watched Asteroid City, which I really liked. Prob the best of the four, for me at least.

Stargate that right there is the GAME WINNING vote bay bayyyyyyy
I've been watching a movie before bed lately. Here's a few:
Spree
Fun! I enjoyed it a lot. The streamer comments pouring in throughout had me absolutely rolling. Keery's character reminded me a lot of Elliot Rodger and seeing that he was in fact based on him in trivia notes later was crazy.
The Cabin in the Woods
This was absolutely awesome. I skipped this movie for a long time even though I've known and have always loved the concept of it. But this was a treat. The ending portions was spectacular. Such a fun idea.
The Last Days on Mars
It's bad.
Bravehart
Pretty hammy for the most part and the battle scenes were like a slapstick comedy. It was okay overall but it'd be a really great movie to riff.
The Menu
Loved it. Not really what I was expecting at all.
10 Cloverfield Lane
Apparently I had already watched this according to LB, but I have zero memory of doing so. Thought it was really good for the most part and Goodman was phenomenal. But didn't care much for the last little bits.
Scream
Another one I pretty much already knew the plot/twist to so never bothered. I really wish I didn't know the killer identity going in because it did such a great job keeping you guessing. Also I had no idea this movie was so silly and genuinely funny.
Probably just gonna binge through this series honestly. Not as good as the first, to be expected, but still not bad for a sequel. And the movie made fun of itself plenty for that. A little bit more TENSE this time around, especially the car scene. Still a lot of funny moments too. A lot more fun this time around not knowing exactly who the killer was, so guessing throughout made for a really fun time.

Thought for SURE Joel was one of the killers and felt so smart thinking so. I was disappointed with it being Mickey cause I felt he was so obvious but I did enjoy their explanation as to why he did it.
Unfortunately trivia notes for Scream 1 spoiled me on the killers being coed so I knew it was a woman and a man. Though it did make it fun constantly trying to figure out which pair it was. I had Hallie pegged for a long time and was shocked she got killed. Afterwards I pretty much figured it'd have to be Debbie Salt since it couldn't be Gale, though I didn't see her twist origin coming.
This might be where I exit the franchise. This one was solid (some great kills) but I hear it falls off a cliff real soon. ZERSCH! Are any future ones worth it? Did you ever check out the reboot from last year?
At the same time I’m trying to be a completionist with these 80s/90s franchises. Watched through all of Halloween and finishing up F13 and Nightmare soon. Oh and Child’s Play
Hellraiser was next and probably the Candyman sequels. I could probably stomach some shitty Hellraiser sequels but I hear they’re like ROUGH rough

Take my opinion with a grain of salt because I like the franchise despite itself.
The reboot was serviceable, nothing amazing but that being said it's much better than any of the movies you're going to run into if you continue sequentially.
I did personally like Hellseeker and Inferno as B-movies but they have barely anything to do with Hellraiser lore because they were treatments that had the IP forced on them. One is a weird detective movie and the other feels like a cheap Silent Hill.
But yeah, you're good to check out at 3 if you're already thinking about cutting and running.
To be fair to it though the next movie was still a theatrical release so you could probably still enjoy something about it. The rest are straight to DVD stuff.
Remember I am relatively easy to please and do not give 1 star and especially half star ratings lightly.
Also enjoy this Hellraiser 3 song by Sufjan Stevens that Ecto turned me onto the other week. I cracked up when he name dropped characters and everything.
Somehow despite loving the game i never actually watched the movies. Thought i knew everything there was too know about them because of the game and cultural osmosis, but actually i knew next to nothing with this and was genuinely surprised by the twists and turns. What a fun slasher, i actually loved it

God what a film, I really liked The Dark Knight back in the day but i REALLY loved this, just so strange and silly and interesting. This is the first time ive seen a Bruce Wayne that really feels like he could be Batman, like the first time i look at the rich guy persona and think "yeah thats a guy that would make the conscious choice to dress up as a bat with a bat car and a bat jet and fight weirdos"
Nolan's Batman felt like a man who understands branding, Burton's Batman feels like a man who hasnt fully questioned if this is weird. You can imagine him somehow just falling into this strange hobby and getting really into it, and he's not around normal enough people to really put it into perspective
