You forget the situation, since you are looking with 20/20 hindsight. Hillary was polling to win, so rather than release information which would be declared illegitimate and grounds for armed revolution before the election, the heads of the Reps and the Select Committee were informed on the issue with the expectation that afterwards the Hillary administration would work in conjunction with McConnell to get this addressed. That's the way this stuff would have played out had Hillary not lost a few key states she had in the bag, like Penn and Michigan.

Instead, we're now in the situation where we have an admin that has significant "difficulties", the Dems are in now power position to do anything other than look like sour grapes, and the Rep leadership in congress are stuck between pulling down a Republican President but someone they personally dislike and can't always influence the direction of.

As for Assange- his Hillary emails on Syria and Libya were one of the reasons i would not vote for her. But I also believe he is tainting some of his info so you have to take some of his leaks with a grain of salt. But then I also still believe Snowden was a CIA guy designed to take down the NSA a few pegs. (and that's an entirely different story).

How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat?

And Wikey- Trump's wiretap BS is even losing some of his staunch Fox News supporters:

lawl that video. No love for him no more. Ftr, I do think the wiretap tweet was incredibly dumb.

And fair enough, those are some good points, I get where you're coming from. I think the Democrats were overconfident about winning, so I could buy the idea that they would investigate after Hillary won.

They teach us in school to be source critical of the media for a reason lol, this includes both right wing and left wing outlets. I wouldn't count on Trump getting impeached on this Russia thing since it might not be as bad as left wing media paints it out to be, but most of their reporting has seemed fine to me tbh. They hold his campaign as accountable as much as possible, which is good. There's certainly connecting tissue between some of his staff and Russia so there's that.

Some of the far right party politicians here get money from Russia, which makes the established left wing and conversative parties keep their party out in the cold even more.

As far as Brexit is concerned, I try to keep up with it to see if it was a good idea or not (if it solves the housing crisis and helps the working class etc) but it just seems like the politicians responsible can't come to an agreement and nothing is happening.

I actually think Trump could get a second term if the Democrats lose the working class or if the nominee ends up being too right wing. If he gets impeached and you end up with Pence, I feel like your chances of a democratic victory in 2020 will increase by a lot. He doesn't really have that Trump charisma.

If Trump gets impeached, many right wingers in your country will probably lose their shit though.

The key stuff here relates to stuff that is patently illegal and potentially treason. That's not a left wing position, that's a poli sci guy who also lives in politics here in Sodom on the Potomac and whose firm chairman is working on one of Trump's panels. Hell, some of the work we can publicly release has been limited since our chair joined that panel because of potential conflicts of interest.

I've also gotten drunk with one of the Russian ambassadors at a wedding back in the 90s, so maybe I'm a plant myself.

It's less of an issue now than pre-election. He has the staunch people who are gonna stick with him no matter what, but he's also got a bunch of people who voted for him and are now getting hosed by his policies that are getting quite vocal. He's currently the least popular president in modern times and if he doesn't make things happen shortly he's going to lose most folks completely- these are very unforgiving voters he's losing, like veterans.

More arguments for universal health care from people who don't understand our system sucks:

Yeah, the healthcare thing might be the straw that breaks the camel's back. I'll have to wait and see what happens with all of this stuff, though. If it ends up being treason, then that's some unprecedented territory.

I'll be honest, I didn't really understand everything you were saying in the first post because I'm unfamiliar with all the specifics you mentioned, but you probably know more about it than I do so you're probably correct.

Alow, who names a place Sodom? That's not gonna end well.

DC's nickname is Sodom on the Potomac, since it is an amoral land of debauchery (at least to people who live in the boonies and are super religious).

I proudly take the name.

wikey bet me

So I googled Trump after seeing this message and was greeted with the fantastical headline "Trump orders 46 Obama era prosecutors to resign."

I'm guessing that's what you're referring to.

Well!

I swear I will fuck Trump up if he gets himself impeached purely for making me look bad
