The Lord Of The Rings Extended Editions anyone ever heard of these movies? they're like 20 years old or something

seriously tho, my first time ever watching LOTR! I had them recommended to me so many times but it was too much of a time investment to me before, but I've been on a slight kick for older fantasy so when a friend said she wanted to rewatch them i mentioned that I wanted to finally give them watch, so we did a few nights of watch parties for it.

Really liked it! But kind of glad i waited to watch! I think i was more likely to appreciate the movies now than I would have been forcing myself. Plus after all this time I'd assumed that I would have absorbed most of the plot just from pop cultural osmosis, but it turns out I didnt know anything that actually happens

The Power Of Dog


Not sure what to think of this slow burn of a film. Not even sure if I'm glad I watched it.

The Hobbit (1977) - what a cute movie! I know there's a bigger and better Hobbit adaptation but I was way more in the mood to watch the Rankin-Bass version. It really feels more like kids playing pretend than a coherent narrative (really seems like they rushed the story along as much as they could) but I really liked the designs and seeing these different interpretations of the characters I saw in the trilogy. Gandalf was the funniest because he didn't feel different at all. Plus the very rushed and kid-friendly pace was so funny compared to watching the extended trilogy

honestly without having seen the Rankin-Bass version I'd dispute that. Just from your description that already sounds better

Piranha. Not the old 70's version, but the oldish 2000s version. Some kind of Canadian lake Piranha thing.

It was an intentionally bad, nature monster movie thing. I give it 9 sharknado style thumbs up.
