The Lost Daughter. Olivia Coleman is always incredible, but this was a particularly good performance from her. This will almost certainly be nominated for an Oscar. |
2 movies in one day for me! That is extremely rare. Olivia Colman fantastic as always. The movie was good, I feel like I might have been expecting more though. |
It seemed to be building towards something with that family, but then nothing really happened there. Leda not a very good mother, sees herself in young mother Nina. I read a review that said she stole the kid's doll because she wanted Nina to need her. She also treated that doll like her own child as well, even buying it clothes from the toy store. I guess to make up for failing her own kids? |

P sure Nina was a mob wife--that was definitely a mafia family on vacation. I think Nina also took on the role as her surrogate daughter in the film, too. Very complicated. |

I finally got around to seeing the latest James Bond movie.
|
I think I loved it. But it has problems. Good stuff though: I feel the first half was so, so, so good. The love story. The action sequences. So freaking good. Everything Ana de Armas. Just wow. Even that blonde agent guy I thought was handled well. The villain's main motivation. How he was able to accomplish it.
Where I feel it kinda falls apart is... his secondary motivation. His weird fixation with Madeliene that basically ya know gets him killed. It adds a lot to the runtime. I loved the opening sequence and I understand why he has this fixation but once you learn they haven't even seen each other since that opening scene, then it's like, okay...
Like why?
And then you have him coming back and shooting up Bond at the end, again this just gets him killed. Aim for the head. Or don't get close to him. Or... leave the island with a harddrive filled with all this toxin info. Make a new base somewhere else. So many options. I wish the villains in these movies were just smarter, and won like for real. Cause he does get a win here in Bond dying but at the expense of his own life which doesn't feel much like a win to me.
Silly nitpick. I'm the kind of person who wants the Littlefinger to sit atop the Game of Thrones. But I know that's not these movies. Letting that slide, I think it was really good. A good ending for Daniel Craig. (Though lol at them not being able to deactivate or remove the nanites and all that stuff. Okay, well in 5 years I'm sure there'll be a solution if you don't got one now.)
Ana de Armas needs to return in the next film. Easily the best part of the entire movie. The stuff with her really brought life to those scenes. |

It was needed tbh. I laughed the entire time. A lot of crew was randomly in the audience. Knoxville was shouting out random camera dudes and shit like that | --------------------

The Kings Man
Really enjoy these movies. Good story and entertaining from start to finish.
Ghostbusters Afterlife
Didn't need to be made. Boring the first 90ish minutes. Last 20 or so we fun though. Watch if you're bored but nothing earth shattering here.
King Richard
Loved this movie.
Molly's Game
Really good. Wanted to watch this a couple years ago and finally had time too |
