found myself watching lion king 2... i've never seen it all the way through... maaan it was bad. like, what were they thinking? the plot doesnt even make sense in the context of the original movie. | |

i actually really liked magnolia! maybe it was PRETENTIOUS in parts (really only in the ending, though i was so taken aback by it that i could only admire it) but i was honestly quite affected by a lot of the stories. it was filled with great performances, and despite being three hours and change, it kind of FLEW BY | | |

Both Robette and I wound up screaming at the video screen because the characters were so unfathomably retarded. Everybody in that film should have died for their idiocy at least seven times. |

Only God Forgives
Very mesmerizing. Very pretty. Not much more than that though! The plot was pretty thin. And I know that surreal/minimalist acting and dialogue seems to be Refn's shtick but it's like he turned it up to 11 here. I liked Drive better. It still had those ELEMENTS but it didn't go as crazy with them and there was a better plot and better characters
