I remember the first time I saw Borat was in high school with my parents. I still haven’t recovered from being in the same room as them during the naked wrestling scene. I recall hiding under a blanket through almost the entire scene. | "All this from a slice of gabagool?" |

Borat 2
First half I was absolutely in tears. It was hilarious. Then it turned serious and not as funny. Ended up being a pretty good movie. I was expecting shit. Sachsa's ability to disguise as Borat and and the disguise as someone as Borat was amazing. The daughter was brilliant in her parts as well.
Don't want to ruin the Rudy parts, but he's a perv. |

Save Yourselves!
Funny comedy about going off the grid when it comes to electronics. I’d probably not read the full movie description as it says one of the twists in it but we knew ahead of time and still enjoyed it.
4/5 stars | "So, uh, what are we saying here? If we save LA from a nuclear bomb, then you and I can get together for dinner and a movie?"

For Halloween we flicked around Hulu and found double double toil and trouble... It's the Mary kate and Ashley Halloween movie. Weirdly I remembered the opening of the movie perfectly but I had no idea about the plot beyond that. The grandma from Malcolm in the Middle traps her good twin sister in a tv screen magic mirror and the two little witches have to save her with a smooth talking vagabond and a little person clown. Definitely a good movie to openly mock while watching.

1917 - 8/10.
Finally was able to watch this. Was not the movie I was expecting. The direction and cinematography is exceptional. Not quite as flashy as I was expecting but a very good movie.

The Invisible Man
I loved this movie up to about the point where the invisible man turned into Daredevil at the hospital. That didn't sour me on the movie completely but it did deflate a lot of the tension for me for some reason.
|
The restaurant scene that preceded it with the floating knife and the sister murder was a legitimate what the fuck moment for me though, loved that whole scene. |

I watched Creepshow 2 and Maximum Overdrive back to back the other day and both movies had a character named Deke in it.
What a terrible name. | |

When the soda vending machine opened automatic fire on the little league time I died laughing. And then some kid immediately gets run over by a possessed bulldozer to keep the light hearted hilarity going.
Steamroller, not bulldozer.

Watched Ingmar Bergman's 'Hour of the Wolf'... the film and director that heavily inspired the directors Ari Aster (Hereditary & Midsommar) and Robert Eggers (The VVitch, The Lighthouse) during the making of their films.
All I can say about Hour of the Wolf is that it was downright one of the most psychologically horrifying films I have ever seen. Up to par with Rosemary's Baby and The Shining... but even more terrifying and stripped down to the bone. The film is essentially a deep dive into a tortured artists descent into insanity. It's portrayed via nightmare-fuel imagery that is reminiscent of David Lynch's most effective shots that stick in your brain by how purely frightening they are.
I dunno, that was a lot to process - which ofcourse is to be expected of any Bergman film. But this one just felt a bit more primal and viscous than any of his other films that I've seen. What a fucking trip - especially cause I watched it stoned as hell which made it even more of a complete mindfuck. Can't wait to rewatch this one! | 'Oh my god, it's full of stars!'
